One in five don't clean their teeth at least once a week, survey shows.

According to the findings of the study, one in five people freely acknowledge that they skip brushing their teeth at least once every week.

A significant research on oral health that included 2,000 persons and covered all aspects of oral hygiene, from the frequency with which people wash their teeth to their dental knowledge found that 41% of people clean their teeth for less than a minute each day, in total.

And eighteen percent of people confess that they spend less time caring for their teeth because they are rushing late for work, while thirty-seven percent of people disclose that they often skip a thorough cleaning before going to bed.

As a direct consequence of this, twenty-five percent of people would feel ashamed about the condition of their mouths if they were to have a checkup, and twelve percent see the dentist fewer than once per year.

When asked about the frequency with which they floss their teeth, more than (13%) of people have lied about the frequency of their actions, but only 9% have lied about the frequency with which they see the dentist.

"There's a lot going on in your mouth that you don't think about, Regardless of whether you have sensitive teeth or not, it is very essential to address the health of your gums. This includes accessing tough regions in between your teeth and along the gum line.

When something is out of sight, it's easy to forget about it," but when it comes to your dental health, it's essential to make sure that it stays at the forefront of your mind.

39 percent of those who avoid going to the dentist confess that it's just because they don't enjoy going there, while 31 percent are not presently registered with a dentist.

And one in sixteen people have avoided attending because they are concerned about what they would learn if they do go.

According to the statistics provided , 11% of respondents just do not want to have any procedure done, such as getting fillings or anything even more intrusive.

It was also shown that 11% of people seldom or never think about the health of their gums, while as many as 60% just assume that by cleaning their teeth, they are automatically also taking care of their gums.

Because of this, twenty-five percent of people report that they have never been fond of their grin, and twenty-one percent of people typically try to avoid revealing their teeth while smiling for pictures.

Half of the people polled say they do a "decent" job of maintaining the health of their lips, but they also acknowledge there is space for growth in this area.

And twenty-four percent of people acknowledge that they probably need to know more about dental hygiene, whereas fifteen percent of people don't know much about gums.
