So the struggle continues! I sympathize, as I've always had long hair myself, although taking care of it is less of a problem with each passing year... I guess then I've already revealed it's a little beyond me to offer any actual advice, besides perhaps to count your blessings you live in the present day. Consider Grace Lee Whitney when she appeared on the original Star Trek in the 1960s, with a beehive hairdo about a foot in height! Sadly, that style took so long to fix that many women neglected proper haircare, and suffered for their looks. Today, I'm afraid I can't look at those JoJo's Big Adventure male 'dos without comparable concerns! (Speaking of Japan, the chibi you is hilarious! I remember when all that was just making its way to the west, my friends and I marvelling at Super Gem Fighter!) I loved your second-last paragraph too, relating this particular struggle to the universal one and reminding us that even in our daily challenges we can see instructive patterns for coping with life as a whole. This made me think of Ishmael's philosophic reflections as he watches Queequeg weaving with his needle on the deck of the Pequod. So even you sometimes have mornings straight out of Melville, keep at it - because from the photos you post, your hair always looks great!
