The centre of a populous city, where the clatter of traffic and the drag of daily business blocked out the sounds of peace, a hidden retreat languished. Out of the general turn of events and hustle, this minute garden was one of the features of existence in a twinkling of an eye discovered an apiary, was a sanctuary of greenness and continuance for those who observed its mystery. At the core of it was an old woman, Mrs Johnson, a keeper of this secret sanctuary.

In her silvery hair that shone like moonlight, Mrs. Johnson was wholly committed to the maintenance of the garden. She was not simply plant keeper, she was soul healer. One day, an unfortunate youth named Alex, overwhelmed by his trials, came to this green paradise. However, little did he know that that interaction would alter the direction of his life.

Alex walked through the garden enchanted by the intensity of color and the flowers’ scent. A pleasant lady, who, with a radiant smile that oozed an ocean of kindness, greeted him was Mrs. Johnson. The pressure in his heart could be felt, and she persuaded to sit down on a tired bench where pink buds started coming out.

There was the refreshing aroma of flowers in the air, and the light breeze blew away Alex’s troubles. Mrs. Johnson, in a soft tone that seemed to read the minds of the ages, began to tell stories. Tales of plants which had survived storms, but had flowered nevertheless. Tales of life struggle, and the need to find comfort within one oneself.

Alex got involved in a world of metaphorical harmonies as the story unfolded. The garden became a real evidence of an ability of resilience to change things dramatically. As a remedy to his bruised spirit, Mrs. Johnsons’ words started to heal the fractures of his soul.

With time, Alex visited the healing garden often. It began with casual conversations that became a profound relationship with Mrs. Johnson. Whereas the young man once felt burdened, he found himself inspired by the tales of survival and the resilience of the plants just around.

Acknowledging Alex’s change, Mrs. Johnson subliminally motivated him to develop a feeling of being an integral part of the gardening process. With a common goal in mind, they sowed seeds of faith and guided burgeoning green shoots. As they worked together, it allowed more, in its place new sense of unity between them, and the healing garden was blooming, not only by the flowers but as well as new friendship.

News about the magical garden got out of the garden’s secret place. Not far from now, more souls running away from the storms in life flowed into Mrs. Johnson’s haven. Each of the visitors, as Alex himself, found an individual relationship with the garden, finding consolation in its beauty and comfort in its power.

The once neglected corner turned out to be the center of human contact and nature’s embrace. Mrs Johnson, overwhelmed with joyfulness, saw compassion in action as the healing garden turned out to be a place of sanctuary for the weary, a place where the glow of human love mended broken hearts.

Yet along the seasons of life, the lives of people touched by the garden also changed. The resilience in these plants on the other hand symbolized the resilience of every refugee who was seeking the refuge in the plants. Mrs. Johnson, with a twinkle in her eye and joy in her heart, saw many who found strength within themselves as do the flowers that proliferate in spite of all odds.

The healing garden nestled in the centre of the city, among the noise and haste, was a living example of the reparative nature of compassion, connectedness and compassionate care. The whisper of resilience emanated from within its leaves; it carried with it the tales of people who mirrored the good strong sides of the resilient plants, those who had lived through storms and saw the light on the other side.

Mrs. Johnson tended to her sanctuary and the echoes of healing continued to resonate from within, a testament to the fact that even in the busiest of places, there exists a place where faint human whispers of resilience may be heard and the spirit of man may be sustained.
