friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
Did You Ask Yourself Why Some Friends Are Like Magnets?
Toxic friends can merely “do” for you. A healthy friendship is all about “being”. If you are a new reader, welcome on board, and thank you for deciding to stop by. If you are a returning one, I want you to know how grateful I am for your trust and loyalty!

Life-Long Friendships Are Special
When I went to grade school in the late 1960s, it was the time of teacher's strikes in New York City. I attended a public school not far from where I lived with my parents. After my dad died when I was ten in 1967, and the strikes came on in 1968, my mom was worried about my schooling. She knew it would not be easy for her to put me into a private school, but because it was uncertain how long school would be closed, she looked into it. Mom found a religious private school Lutheran Elementary School two blocks from where we lived.

Needy
Being there for one another is just one aspect of a great friendship. From time to time you might come across someone who is a little needier than you are used to. You try to set boundaries to make sure the friendship stays safe for you, but you are a softy. Now you are drowning in the friendship, and need someone to throw you a life line.

Everyone Needs a “Super Human” in Their Life
Over 15 years ago I had battled a series of 7 surgeries over a 5 year period. It not only took a toll on me physically but definitely mentally as well. I had gone from surgeon to surgeon to surgeon with each surgery ending in failure. After exhausting all local viable options in New York, I flew to Mayo Clinic in Florida to hopefully put my surgical woes to rest. Luckily, after 6 unsuccessful attempts, a mentor of the surgeon from Florida (who practiced medicine in NYC) performed what was thankfully my last surgery. It was a long 11 month recovery with a nurse at my home every morning.

Lovely
I thought today was going to go down as the worst day in my entire life. Over the past few weeks there had been things, little things, that were just building up to come together in a culmination of a crap storm and make me vulnerable to a final death blow. First the car, then my job, then bills. The list didn’t seem to have an end. So I went for a drive alone so I could just cry—don’t judge me. Ladies, you know we do our best crying behind the wheel. And we still have a lower percentage of accidents than men.

I Talk Too Much and It's a Problem
This week I kept getting in trouble for interrupting my best friend and talking over her. I swear that the things I needed to say were important. Do you ever listen to someone but you heard what they said already during the exact conversation you are having right now, so you stop them and go "I know, you just said that". Well, I do that a lot.

To The Lug nuts!
Addison let out a slow breath, taking in the fresh air around here. Vacation was coming to a close, and at a faster pacer than she would have liked. Getting to the cottage these days was uneasy, and any time spent was considered to be a blessing.

The Lost World of Recommendations: Discovered
“Dude, if you love this show then you’ll definitely love Seinfeld” I said to my friend while we watched the TV show Friends. “Aside from the fact that Seinfeld is WAY better… they practically share the same love for friendship, laughter, and the irregular circumstances of life. Just give it a chance, that’s all I’m asking.”
