The Maidens: Review
I should start by saying, I have a lot to say about this book. I should also say that this is the first book by Alex Michaelides that I have read. Michaelides is known for his debut novel The Silent Patient which was No.1 on the New York Times Best Seller list upon its release in 2019. Since finishing The Maidens I have ordered his debut novel and it arrives tomorrow.
G. A. MckayPublished 2 years ago in GeeksWhy The SnyderVerse's Popularity is WBD's Best Solution!
The release of Zack Snyder's Justice League on digital platforms after its debut as an HBO Max streaming exclusive shows that there is still an appetite for the DCEU and WBD's best solution to their problems. The Snyder Cut and the concept of the SnyderVerse is one of the most demanding requests by fans for the future of the DCEU. Although the first film in the DCEU was Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, it was the release of the Snyder Cut, the latest film in a franchise that former WB executives believed was a box office failure only to become a global phenomenon.
Louis MihaelPublished 2 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword"
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword came out back in 2017. I remember seeing it back in the day and liking it. The problem was that I don't think people liked it that much so it doesn't get talked about that often. It's actually a pretty big shocker when I revisited this movie recently. After seeing it again I'm kind of curious why it hasn't caught on by now.
Brian AnonymousPublished 2 years ago in GeeksRemember, Remember . . . V for Vendetta
I aim to write this more about the movie than the comics as I feel the movie has a wider audience, but this by no means discounts the incredible writing of the comics (obviously). I will be leaning into the comics here and there as well, of course, as it is the foundation to this entire diatribe I am about to explore.
Atlas CreedPublished 2 years ago in GeeksShe-Hulk Review: "A Normal Amount of Rage"
My anticipation for the premiere of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was so big, it could fill up SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California...twice. I had spent the last month getting caught up as much as possible on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (I actually made quite a dent; starting where I left off with Loki and actually finishing Moon Knight), but decided not to delay watching this series, I just couldn't.

Delise FantomePublished 2 years ago in GeeksLifetime Review: 'The Secret Lives of College Freshmen'
Synopsis: Hannah Marks (Sarah Grey) has just started college with her best friend Jodie Mays (Raylene Harewood) and their first few days are great. Not only do they score a luxurious dorm room, but Hannah is eager to have her favorite author Andrew Hampton (Oliver Rice) as her English professor. But it's not long into the semester before they learn something horrifying: the last resident of their dorm was Amy Hines (Kimi Alexander), a student who fell out the window to her death. While it was initially ruled a tragic suicide, a video circulated around campus suggests Amy was actually murdered. When Hannah discovers Amy's diary and learns more about the events surrounding her death, she begins to wonder if Andrew--who she has become romantically entangled with--knows more about what happened than he claims. Once things go from bad to worse on campus, it's up to Hannah to uncover the truth before her freshman year comes to an untimely end.
Trevor WellsPublished 2 years ago in GeeksTop 10 Marvel Movies Ranked (Part 1)
I'm not gonna lie... I'm struggling to get on board with a post-endgame Marvel. There was something truly magical about the multi-tonal journey between Tony Stark's grounded introduction in 2010 to the huge culmination of super-powered beings vs tyranical purple alien in Endgame.
Gary RagnarssonPublished 2 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Ghostbusters 2"
Ghostbusters 2 is the sequel to the ever popular Ghostbusters (1984). it took them 5 years to come out with a sequel but somehow they got the whole cast from the original back in on this fun project. With those 5 years come advancements in special effects and I guess some acting lessons. There are a lot of improvements and there are a few missteps along the way as well.
Brian AnonymousPublished 2 years ago in GeeksA movie review on Prey by filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg
Predator or prey…which one is worse? Dan Trachtenberg’s film Prey debuted this month on Hulu. Remade off of the original Predator film in 1987, Prey is about a young Comanche girl who loves to hunt and eventually kills the biggest predator of them all. I want to discuss a few key takeways that I enjoyed from the film and help you relate to it! The first idea that I enjoyed from the film was the first scene. Prey opens with Nadu (Amber MidThunder) hunting a deer. She was fast, determined and cunning enough to hunt all wildlife with a bow and arrow, along with her ax. And get this… she would throw it. I like how this scene, along with some of the others that I will discuss today, show the genius of the Native AMerican culture, specifically the Comanches. (Side note: in Middle school I was highly fascinated with Native culture and would study/research about their culture during my free time).
Elysia TaylorPublished 2 years ago in GeeksShe Hulk Episode 1: First Impressions
So I watched the first episode of She Hulk today and it was... fine. I must admit I've struggled a little with the tone of the MCU's Phase 4, and I don't think I'm alone in that. I mean Eternals, remember that movie?
