The Decadent Small Town Hot Dog
I chose Galesburg's Coney Island for the Eat Local challenge because it has been a hallmark of my hometown for as long as I can remember. I literally can't remember a time when I didn't love the coney dogs from Coney Island. In fact, as I was free during the noon hour today, I swung by there for the decedent treat that is their coney dog.

El Andariego Restaurant, Ashton, Maryland El Salvadorean and Mexican Cuisine I happen to live in the suburbs of the Nation's capital, which is utopia for diners seeking variety in eating options. Montgomery County, Maryland, suburb to Washington DC, has students from 164 different countries who arrived speaking 184 different languages. And somewhere within the metropolitan area there is likely to be a restaurant or a food stand selling food representative of each of those countries.

I think it's important to support local businesses, especially right now during a global pandemic. By shopping and eating locally, you help the small companies trying to make ends meet, the mom and dads trying to leave a legacy for their children, the young entrepreneurs trying to make their mark on the world, and above all else, you support the American way of life. Yes, it's more convenient to buy from Walmart or eat at McDonald's, but those companies are rolling in money! They have so much income and lawyers it hurts. On the other hand, Ma Teller and her son Dale only have their sales till at the end of the day, after paying their suppliers, utilities, rent, business license fees, etc. And after all that, have to compete with these gigantic places that take up all the business! What a raw deal. So, whenever my fiancee and I go out somewhere, we try to find a local eatery.

Toronto is a haven for feature foods from far and wide. I try my best not to take for granted my ability to dine at a different country from the comfort of my couch (because of COVID lockdown and y'know, general laziness). But prior to the pandemic pandemonium, I loved to frequent the holes-in-the-wall and the family-run joints because I always found they had the best food when you want to go authentic. Because this city has many blogs that list "top 10's" and "must-eats" (cue BlogTO, Narcity, The NOW, etc.), I wanted to talk about a lesser mentioned place and why it is one of my local eats of choice.
Lets Be Honest: Food is Good
I could spew some lies about which little restaurant in a little-known town is my favorite. Say so many amazing things that could make you want to take a road trip and find this place. But I’m gonna be honest. Fast food is good!

Being a foodie isn't easy and it's even harder when you're a lover of the 'good stuff' that's not so good for your thighs. The spicy chicken wings, three cheese tacos and chilli beef and pork packed burritos, are just too good to worry about how long you'll be spending in the gym the next day, (or three).

I've lived in Hawai'i my entire life. Let's just say there is no other place like it out there. The scenery is beautiful and so are the people. The Aloha State is the place to be if you really want to expand your tastes.
The Top 7 Best Pizza Places In San Antonio, Texas
When I first considered writing this guide, San Antonio was not a pizza town. Billed as the "Gateway to the Alamo," San Antonio is a foodie haven. Still, pizza lovers everywhere might question if central Texas is a real player.

Sometimes, we find the best things when we're not even looking. This happened to be the case with one of my local favorites, the Tipsy Tomato.
Where your community counts
In the suburbs of London sits the town of Romford, where you will find the greatest not so hidden gem in the city. Ciao Bella is an Italian restaurant that sits a stones throw from the railway station at the gateway of the town. The restaurant has been here for a good many year and is one of the best known of Romford’s independent eateries, but why is it so well known?
Spencer HawkenPublished 3 years ago in FeastThe People's Drug
Whether you wander in off the street because of the large neon “Drugs” sign behind the bar, saw pictures of amazing cocktails posted on Instagram or were recommended to try it by a friend, it is clear why The People’s Drug has become an old town hot spot for locals and visitors alike. Coming into the small, intimate space will bring many locals back to moments of nostalgia with the classic five-an-dime, soda counter feel inspired by the People’s Drug chain many grew up with before CVS came along, and this was exactly the feel owners Teddy Kim, Seth McClelland, Ian McGrath and manager Jon Schott were going for when creating their first restaurant together. They wanted to bring back that sandwich counter feel from their younger years, even the wall states “Good food and Good Vibes!” and that’s exactly what they did with their own twist and flair. Beverage Director and General Manager Jon Schott may describe it best “Those that grew up in the area remember them well and especially the soda counter or lunch counter. The counter was where people from all walks gathered to get a bite. We wanted to provide that to our community and continue what we want to be the evolution of them and elevate the idea with incredible food and cocktails. We also felt the name highlighted the importance of food in somewhat of a Hippocrates’ way; “let food be thy medicine.” We wanted a place that was approachable and where you didn’t need to sacrifice that for quality. The two words People and Drug come together in our place for what you could say a prescribed good time.”

Ahh, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. One hour north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Three hours north of Chicago. Creator of Oshkosh B'Gosh, which made little kids look like they were train conductors. Area code 920, city of lakes and rivers.
