Is Your Favorite Burger on This List?
Does a tasty, juicy burger sound pretty good right now? I thought so. In a world seemingly overrun with kale and umami, we know what you want in the heart of your stomach. These are the hamburgers that call your name on a summer night. They fill your dream world with an aroma.

The other day, I got my friend to try a Vegemite sandwich. Though I'm American, I absolutely love Vegemite. I love the umami taste it offers, and I tried to explain why it's so tasty to people who aren't from New Zealand and Australia before. It's not easy. The conversation usually goes like this:

Just before I relocated to Florida my dear friend and amazing Chef, Anne Thornton, moved back to NYC from LA to lead the kitchen team and open 33Greenwich. Located on Greenwich Ave. in the heart of New York City's Greenwich Village this southern inspired eatery does not disappoint and looks to have a long life ahead. Anne opened Little Pine, a vegan restaurant, in LA with singer-songwriter Moby, in 2015 and I know NYC is grateful to have her back.

I remember the date. January 2, 1996. The weather was mostly sunny, with light winds. It was a day in Dallas, Texas like many others, except that I was about to have a religious experience.

Among the most popular television shows in Australia is Masterchef — a high-pressure, high-paced reality cooking show that feeds into the nation’s obsession with food and cooking in all of its forms.

Barrafina — Drury Lane, Covent Garden Barrafina is a small chain of tapas restaurants in London. I'm often at the Drury Lane outlet in Covent Garden before heading to the theatre. It's a small space, generally jammed full with people, but the friendly and efficient team behind the counter effectively manage the queue for seats and keep everyone plied with drinks and snacks. The food they're serving is modern, fresh, and delicious.

In my mind, Belgium is always associated with a lot of delicious foods — chocolate, pomme frites (French fries), beer, moules frites (mussels with fries), and waffles (or gaufres as they’re referred to locally).

It’s Not All About Cats at These Pet Cafés Around the World
The ubiquitous cat cafés popularized in Japan have changed the way people think about boutique tea and coffee establishments. There was a time, not long ago, when these animal-themed eateries, sometimes located in pet shops or pet supply outlets, were the chief go-to locales for those seeking to pair a baked sweet and a warm cup of tea or coffee with the company of furred friends. Nowadays, the concept of the animal café has overflowed the country’s borders to find homes in countries across the globe. It’s no longer all about our feline friends, either. The cafés listed here, all of them found outside Japan, are thinking far outside the catbox in terms of resident animal friends to bond with on your next visit.

Everyone you've ever met knows what a Starbucks looks like, or what a McDonald's looks like. These fast food restaurant chains are infamous for being in almost every town - and in some cases, on almost every corner. They are ubiquitous, and they are so well known throughout the world that they often become synonymous with America, fast food, or a certain portion of the population.

Bubbleology – Rupert Street Bubble tea used to be seen as a weird Asian food fetish, but it's now everywhere. Bubbleology in Soho’s Rupert Street brings a touch of quirky cool to this unlikely line of beverages. I usually go for a plain assam milk tea, but the fruit teas with “popping bobas” (small taro balls filled with juice that burst in your mouth) seem to be the most popular.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we all have that one chain of restaurants that we like. Whether it's Red Lobster, Applebee's, or TGI Friday's, it's a chain that we always can feel at home at. It's predictable. We know what we're getting when we go there, and we know what to expect.

Bone Daddies After their first outlet in Soho was such a huge success, there’s now a couple more of these Japanese/Korean fusion ramen joints across town. Cool, noisy, busy, and great ramen. Their soft-shell crab is one of the best in town; their salmon sashimi irresistible; and I always order their “T22” ramen which comes with “cock scratchings” (true story).
