The fat nonsense about carbs, protein, and fiber
There are three misconceptions in this world that drive me crazy: that pizza, bread, potatoes, rice and pasta are "the carbs", that you need to add fiber to your salad, and that animal food equals protein.

Mafist (noun)
Let me talk to you about mafism. Today I discovered that I am a mafist. This wasn't like my coming-out story when I discovered I wasn't straight. However, similar to that it took me a few years to figure out as well. What I mean is, that today I discovered there is a word for someone like me who doesn't eat mammals - a mafist.

Eat Like Royalty
Instagram makes me hungry. No matter how much I try to unsee food in my feed, I can't escape the links to recipes or funky new trends. About a year ago I saw the liquid gold called Granola Butter, scrolling seductively beneath my fingertips. To this day, I continue to see the temptation and it's dressed in new flavors. Just as I say "No more! I have plenty," another new jar pops up in a sexy label. The latest flavor is cookie dough, which was preceded by date, gingerbread, pumpkin and blueberry. The limited nature urges me to stock up the moment they are released. I'm in survival mode the moment I see Kween launch an exotic and fleeting flavor.

& Bring a Merlot
Boxing Day used to be my favorite day of the year. When your family came over on Christmas Day, I was under the pump. Your mother loathed me because I’m blonde, blue eyed, English, not Greek. ‘The English can’t cook – everyone knows that’, she’d rudely informed me. I rose to her challenge. Hey! What challenge? There was no challenge. Her idea of well-cooked lamb was charcoaled. Her biscuits were dry, and she always incorporated coconut and almond, both of which I am allergic to. In her lounge, the woman had placed a vase in front of my photograph; only your face peeped around the edge while I remained obscured. She hated me – but you loved me.
