Accessibility Means Access To Food
I was originally writing this as a Facebook rant. Unfortunately for the world at large, I'm off this week and have way too much time on my hands. I spent the morning in conversation with a visually-impaired book editor. We were discussing what conlangs (constructed languages, i.e. fantasy or made up languages like Klingon and Sindarin) mean for accessibility when a person needs a screen reader. Turns out, it generally isn't an issue if the screen reader can read it and the website or story is formatted correctly (lots of food for thought there, no pun intended). That got me thinking about how the world views people with invisible disabilities, like severe food allergies or autoimmune disorders that are triggered by food.

A New Coming-Soon Option
Alexandria, Louisiana; a small city where Jackson Street is notorious for blocking traffic with a left-turn into our favorite local places to eat. A city that offers a variety of local dine-ins and dining-outs. The city that grants more than enough local eateries for a picky date.

Recipe creation for advance kitchen users
There are only two ways to make new food. First, make something up. Mix random stuff and see what happened. Like mixing pasta with the cheese and beans with a little smoked paprika, sweetcorn, oregano, salt pepper and a BBQ sauce for the smoky feel to bind it all together. Then bake it and once baked put it in the wrap with some slaw. A BBQ Bean Mac’n’Cheese Burrito. Smoky creamy delicious pasta in the easy form. Sounds amazing doesn't it? Except I haven't actually made this. I made it up, it took me 20 seconds. I can't say whether it's tasty or not but it certainly can be once it’s cooked a couple of times. Imagine it!

Two Weeks Plant Based and 7.6 pounds gone
Weight: 297.6 (7.6 pounds from start at 305.2) Blood Pressure: 139/93 So, in my first two weeks I have lost 7.6 pounds by going plant based. I need to celebrate that as I am trying to wither my lipid-filled water balloons to nothing! D. Thea Baldrick, otherwise known as Denise to me, wrote in her “Fat-Cell 1: What is a Fat Cell” article that we are suffering from the medical condition known as Metabolic syndrome (being too fat for your own good as she says). I need Denise to keep explaining the science to help me move forward.

An Introduction to Chinese Breakfast. Top Story - August 2022.
Of the many adjustments Americans must make when living abroad, one of the biggest is getting used to a very different diet, and the biggest differences in diet often come at breakfast. The first morning meal served to a weary traveler may come as a shock for a few reasons. We're used to having a fairly strict divide between "breakfast foods" and "non-breakfast foods," a distinction which doesn't exist in most cultures outside of the Mediterranean. Add to that the heavy foods served in many breakfast traditions, and that first repast can be a bit of a hurdle.
