When you think of summer time, you think of fun in the sun, delicious food on the grill and good times with friends. The kids are out of school and summer ball is in full swing. Everything seems so alive! The weather is finally nice to get out and do things. So we do...
Jennifer DonathPublished 2 years ago in FeastSummer Tastes Like Rhubarb
While living in the tropics, I hunted for what summer flavour I had missed. It did not take long to realize what it was; I was craving the sour-sweet-tart taste of rhubarb. I remember trying substitutes to feed some of that summer craving, passionfruit got close, but nothing tasted like summer. I am in love with the strange, stocky plant. Rhubarb is visually a unique addition to landscaping and flower gardens, with stocks varying from red to pink or spackled to green. While wide varieties are eatable, some are decorative and can be highly toxic, and the leaves are poisonous (but still have some great uses).

As summer quickly approaches, many of us are thinking about eating around campfires, on our patios, or even going over to a friend's house with a bowl of salad to bring with us.

The hamburger, an American classic! Let’s face it summers can get hot! Having hamburgers cooking on the BBQ is a must! It’s what summer is for! A hamburger patty crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside, lightly cooked buns to give it that extra crunch, our favourite topping and condiments in between giving it more flavour. We all love the Smokey smell and the savoury taste of a hamburger that has been cooked over fire. BBQing burgers is an American tradition.

“Summer”, is a word with many connotations. For many, summer means s’mores and swimsuits, hot dogs and hot days, fresh fruit and fireworks, and water in any form. For Arizonans, it means clustering around pools and trying to keep cool with buckets of ice and refreshing citrus.
M. A. MehanPublished 2 years ago in FeastWhat is cold-pressed oil and why is it considered good
When it comes to cooking, oil is an important ingredient. It can help to fry food, add flavor, and prevent sticking. Cold-pressed oil is a type of oil that is made by using a special process that doesn't involve heat. This means that the oil retains its natural nutrients and flavors.

Summer Time is a hot season and eating is something I do little of The thought of turning on the stove or oven does not appeal to me and not being much of cook as it is in any season making a greek salad doesn't involve cooking there is nothing nicer than a greek salad you have thrown together yourself and a nice cool drink and no not talking about an alcoholic drink I am talking about a nice glass of coke or pepsi with ice.
Jessica HowardPublished 2 years ago in FeastStrawberry Pasta Sauce
Strawberries belong to summer, a juicy bite on hot days, a sweet treat baked into 4th of July cobblers. So, lucky for the summer aficionados of this singularly scrumptious berry, of which I count myself one, I have cracked the strawberry wide, wide open. I discovered the ultimate way by which to incorporate strawberries into more than salads, desserts, smoothies, and breakfast parfets. I discovered how to make this berry the centerpiece of a new dish. I had, indeed, revolutionized, pioneered, innovated the strawberry and what it was capable of—instead of tomatoes as the base of pasta sauce, I would use strawberries. This stroke of genius was the great synthesis of two things: the summer sweetness of a strawberry and the satisfying slurp of spaghetti.

It only seems like yesterday. It was summer which was vacation and childhood fun. Every summer, we used to travel to my grandparent's place in Varanasi (an old city in India ). The trip was always a fun ride packed with a lot of singing, dancing, and drinking Pepsi cola. Drinking Pepsi was a cool thing that summer of my 9th grade. It was not just a soda. Pepsi, the v channel, and Baywatch were part of pop culture. We even made popsicles and candies out of Pepsi flavor. It is altogether another story to tell.
Burp
Ah, summer. I straightened my spine and took a good, long look at the garden. For now, it appeared to be an empty patch of brown dirt, but I knew that it was only a matter of time before the miracle beneath the soil took place. Then there would be more green than we had wished for, and we all knew what that meant: the detestable chore of weeding. But today there was no weeding to do. Instead, it was time for my favorite garden job: planting.

Hellbent for Berries
The only bad thing about raspberries is remembering how to spell it. Everything else about the berry is perfect. I first encountered them in my father’s garden. He loved when his children would join him there. Delving into the raspberry bushes involved standing out in the hot sun and bravely facing the dangers of buzzing bees and prickly branches.
