Why You Should Try HelloFresh At Least Twice
HelloFresh brands itself as America's Most Popular Meal Kit, and after hearing ad after ad from many different podcast hosts raining their praises, I finally decided to give it a go.

Warm days, soaking up the sunshine. Brilliant clear blue skies with wispy white clouds. Late afternoon thunderstorms that leave rainbows as the storms roll away.
J. Delaney-HowePublished 2 years ago in FeastHow Salad Changed My Life
Controversial opinion: The best summer food is salad. If I met a genie who granted me the opportunity to eat one food for the rest of my life, I'd choose salad. Why? Because ANYTHING can be a salad if you play your cards right. I learned this the hard way, so let me explain:
Andrea StandbyPublished 2 years ago in FeastGoing home again at summertime
Having not seen my birth home for a very long time, I had misgivings and apprehensions about returning home. So much would have changed, people and everyday activities would have changed. Everything that I remembered would have to be reevaluated and reassessed. But the things that cannot change are the traditions of many a generation in the making.
Novel AllenPublished 2 years ago in FeastThink of Summer Days Again
One particular Fourth of July, like every fourth of July, the entire clan was descending on our house. Grandma, a powdered and perfumed version of William Tecumseh Sherman whose pats on the back stung for a good five minutes. Grandpa, who slid into a room like a shadow, settled in a chair and was happiest when everyone forgot he was there, just as long as he had a good view of the yard and the birds and any chipmunks that might venture forth. Dad’s sisters and brother and their families: calm, capable, brilliant Marion; dramatic Phyllis, the rule-breaker; Charlie, the baby, who looked up to his older brother and secretly feared he would never measure up. Great aunts and uncles, cousins and second cousins, some older folks whose connection to the family was so impenetrable that we gave up trying to figure it out and just enjoyed their company. With girlfriends, boyfriends, new partners, visiting students there might be twenty people coming to the house or there might be forty. This family carnival meant that summer was truly here, sticky, sweaty, breath-robbing summer in the suburbs of Philadelphia.

When I first joined my scout troop the scoutmaster showed me how to make a really good meal for camping. After I was shown how to make it, that would be by favorite meal to make, but I would add a few variations to it. He showed me how to make what he called a foil dinner. It was a real simple recipe to make.
Lawrence Edward HincheePublished 2 years ago in FeastFour Simple Recipes To Spice Up Your Summer Peaches
Summertime comes with waves of nostalgia. Of singing on Jane Street while on my way to homeroom and conversations with my grandmother over cups of cardamom coffee.

Aloha To you all! This summer is something I am so looking forward to! Where I grew on the beautiful islands of hawaii, where summer came to us all year around. Of course you'd have days where it would rain, but living New York and dealing with the diferent climate change I've come to aprieciate summer more.
Venison Stew
So, Vocal just posted a new challenge: Summer Camp - share a recipe for your ideal Midsummer meal. There's one problem with that: I'm in the Southern Hemisphere, and we just got launched face-first into a bitterly cold winter. Seriously, I feel like I just got thrown into an iceberg, and now is a very bad time for electricity, and thus heating, prices to be on the rise. Also, I'm something of a picky eater, and my food tastes don't actually change that much from season to season.
Natasja RosePublished 2 years ago in FeastI First Tried Watermelon at 30...
I first tried watermelon at 30. A 30 year old Black woman that never tried the fruit probably sounds unheard of... but there I was trying it. And for what reason- you ask? Because I knew I didnt like it ofcourse. I didnt like the looks I'd saw it get or the snickers from other classmates growing up in all mostly "Privileged" schools. That was back when keeping up a "token" image was silently expected of me. But now- this summer- I was bartending at a nice new italian pizza bar (yes pizza & bar) in a more socially aware world than the one I had grew up in. In this world, it's ok to identify as anything you want to and express anything you feel. The only similarity was that I was still the only Black woman on staff in a tourist packed restaurant- and here I was on my first day ... being asked to make a watermelon margarita. It was a hot day and people could pass by the bar window on my level to grab a drink- so I must have reluctantly made 30 watermelon-ritas before my break. And all I could think of on that break was those damn smiling faces drinking it so boldly on the street. BECAUSE DONT THEY KNOW?! DIDNT they see those same vile pictures and those same looks I'd seen? Didnt they know the words of hate for people like me that those pictures represented? Were some of them laughing at me after while they walked away drinking them? A part of me was fuming that i even had to make it at all. And then... I heard something in me say
