Prepare Indian Chola Poori

Instructions:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chickpeas, soaked overnight
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon of amchur (dried mango powder)
  • 1 teaspoon of chaat masala
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas and set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  4. Add the chopped ginger and garlic and stir for a few minutes.
  5. Add the chopped onions and green chilies and cook until the onions are soft and lightly browned.
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for a few minutes until they are soft and mushy.
  7. Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, amchur, and chaat masala and mix everything together.
  8. Add the soaked chickpeas and mix everything together.
  9. Add the water and salt to taste and bring to a boil.
  10. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the chickpeas are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot. Enjoy!
