Ravyn
I first met her in a dream. My Ravyn. We were walking, hand-in-hand, backs turned to me, the dreamer, and my nighttime dream eyes. We were talking, she and I. I loved her so much. The love permeated the dream state. I did not know, of course, that I was dreaming of her, of Ravyn and that this was not just some silly, fantastical, meaningless collection of images sprung from somewhere deep in my unconscious erupting into my subconscious while I was deep in r.e.m. Nope. This was not that at all. This was prophetic. Of course I was unaware of this then. At the time, approximately 28 years ago, I did not believe in such things as prophecy, vision questing, shamanic journeying, astral projection, soul groups and the like, let alone something so utterly insane as a spirit of one who has yet to be coming to me, communicating to me in my dreams. Unheard of! (my then younger self would have proclaimed, accompanied with a guffaw and snort of protest). Preposterous (there is the guffawing and snorting part).

I remember it like it was yesterday, though it was over two decades ago. My c-section was scheduled for New Year's Eve. I had a bouncing baby girl that weighed in 8 pounds and 13 ounces. Ola Ojewumi was born a healthy and happy baby. She's brought me so much happiness as a mother. Her father knew she was special and gave her a name in his native tongue of Yoruba, Odunola. Ola for short. In Nigeria, her name means gift from God. My daughter is now all grown up and has lived up to her name.

I met my biggest inspiration on a warm Friday in July of 2017. Although we had been connecting for a number of months beforehand, nothing could have prepared me for the wall of emotion I ran into the moment I met her. Kids need to have their toys to avoid getting bored especially during the times that cannot play outdoors. It is a must that you get them something to play with or you will end up suffering the consequences of not giving them the best kids indoor toys they can play with. There are a few indoor toys that you can choose from. From getting the kids indoor teepees to an indoor trampoline, it's all up to the kids. You can get them toys depending on what they like. However, some toys can be gender-specific. It's best if you can get something that they can play together if you happen to have boys and girls around the house.

You’re Kid is Practicing Unsafe Sex
Whether or not Sex Education (Sex Ed) should be taught in public schools has been a long-standing debate since 1996 in which parents have always had the final say. Parents deem the topic as inappropriate for their children, while schools know they need to teach students about this topic. Although there has been a steady decrease, in teen pregnancies some teens and millennials blame a rise in sexually transmitted diseases teens and young adults on the lack of adequate Sex Education. Before school administrators can decide whether or not to teach Sex Ed in the classroom, parents need to stop babying their kids; the realities students face need to be taken into account, as well as boundaries, need to be set for the extent of the lessons.

Recognition
When I was growing up, I was ignored by my parents almost every day. You see my mother always had friends she would talk to on the phone and when I asked her something she would send me away to go do something. I would feel sad after and probably go cry or just go play with my toys. She would scream at me saying “I’m on the phone Seyi come back later!” Her friends laugh at me on the phone or complain that she should discipline me more, I felt pretty embarrassed hearing her friends tell my mom that, since the thing I wanted to tell her wasn’t that important. In my life, I have not been given that much recognition, especially in schooling environments.
