some information on babies

I would also talk to your maternal and child health nurse or a doctor if you were to have any concerns, or need further advice or support, cause everyone is different.

A. Different types of behaviours for babies

i. Babies will do things to test their developing skills, they also enjoy making things happen, for example, your baby or pretty much every baby will pull your hair, just to get a reaction from you. don’t worry guys this is a normal part of their development. Babies don’t understand that there are consequences, they also don’t have the understanding of right or wrong.

B. This means we need to teach them:

This means that negative consequences or punishment will not work for babies

Babies need warm, loving care so they will feel secure and when they pull your hair you can say Stop and then show the baby how to gently touch your hair and yes the baby will not remember from one time to another time but it takes time to teach a baby stuff but that’s part of them growing up and developmenting

2. BE A ROLE MODEL FOR THE BEHAVIOUR YOU EXPACT

Children learn by watching you, so how you treat people and family is how your child will treat people, if you want your child child to sit at the table for dinner then you need need to do the very same thing.

Praise you child for good behavior do they know they have the right thing, so they ate a pea, wow you did great and wasn’t that yummy

Make clear and age appropiate rules for your child and be consistent, having set sleep routine will also help with childrens behavior and make your life a lot easier.

Sleep; yes im gonna go there

If your baby is 6 to 12 mouths I would only put them down for one nap as they will sleep longer at night at this age and a child at this age only needs 14-15 hours of sleep in 24 hours. So they should be in bed by 7pm max, for there little bodys to function properly. By doing one nap doesn’t make you a bad parent it just means you will be better rested for your child for the next day, not every one will agree with me and that’s okay. If the child is under 6 months then yes I would put the baby down for a few more naps during the day. You wouldn’t do this to a newborn what so ever, you would follow them and what they do at a newborn age as a newborn feeds every 3 to four hours and parents should stick to that if they have a new born for health and safety reason for your child.
