Playlist for the Gym or just something to get you going!
First off let me just start by saying that music is life. Music is the key to everything in my opinion. You get in the car, you either listen to music, a podcast, or you just sit there in pure silence. Either way, music is all around us. We buy devices like wireless headphones so we can listen to music more comfortably. Some of us will go above and beyond and buy a whole set of speakers to enjoy our music. It helps us wether its at work, at the gym, at the store, or just at home. Seriously, what would we do without music?

Ready to Rock Aching muscles expand and contract against my bones. Breaths come steeper and sweat drips from the bridge of my nose. My now drenched clothes beg me to slow down to a brisk walk but I've almost reached my goal. At this point my hair is drenched but I keep taking steady strides. I'm moving my hips and raising each foot relentlessly.

Get Your Anime On: A Playlist for Your Workout
Anime is one of most exciting genres out there. It’s hype, it’s exciting, and there’s always tons of wild action to get your heart racing. Naturally, the music that goes along with it has to be just as energetic. If I’m going to work out, I want a song that pairs well with a character fighting giant monsters, or using their superpowers to fight off villains. If that doesn’t put you in the mindset to kick ass, then nothing will. So that’s exactly what I’ll do. When I need that hype music to make me feel like I too, can lift a car over my head, I blast some anime openings. These songs will keep you active and make you ready to smash that workout into the dust. I’ll highlight my eight favorites below, but I have the full playlist linked down below for your listening pleasure while you get those gains.
A Beatles' Workout
The Beatles gave us music for all occasions, and all our many moods. If you're nursing heartbreak, the Fab Four have got a dozen (or two) songs for you. Conversely, if you've just found love, John, Paul, George, and Ringo have got plenty to say about that.

Music. It moves me. Like an attractive man with intoxicating conversational skills, the beat of a song gets my attention, but the lyrics seal the deal. Yes, a beat that gets you off your butt paired with the perfect words and cadence moves me to my core.

You're inhaling the mingled scents of oft-used air freshener, hastily swiped deodorant, and the musk of hard labor. You're tasting the first wave of salty sweat trickling from your temples to the edges of your mouth and wetting the corners of your lips. You're hearing grunts of exertion and whatever particular program is being presented by the one who holds the remote. You're about to grasp the handles just underneath the seat of the cycling machine and breathing in deep- but suddenly a little lightbulb moment happens and you remember the most important part of this workout session.

I am really excited to share my completely manic and sometimes highly emotional workout playlist with you all! Fitness is such a massive section of my life. It is my most utilized form of therapy. You could even call it church. People run to church to get prayed over, to be healed, so then I guess you can also say the gym is like the ER unit. We go there to get better. That's a badass way of looking at it.

A DAY OF SONG We all have really rough days, ones that are impervious to the regular self-care routines we establish to protect ourselves from the damage. For those inconsolable days, we need music. And ones of every genre, not just what we're used to. I read once that if art decorates space, then music decorates time. So for those bare, bleak times, decorate your day with this positivity-charged playlist to keep you up and moving.
Let's Get Physical: A Workout Playlist of Upbeat Music
Since I was young, I could never engage in any form of physical activity without music. Whether I am walking, completing household tasks, doing cardio workouts or dancing, I am always attached to my iPhone or iPad where I can enjoy listening to music. When I have music on, I feel more motivated to exercise and stay active, as opposed to when I am not listening to music.

Making Spotify playlists is an absurd, minor passion of mine. I have a playlist for every season, every mood, "best of" compilations of my favorite artists, as well as various activities such as painting, getting ready in the morning, hooking up, and of course, working out.

I love music. I know, I know, everybody does, but I mean I really love music. I rely on music. I live for music. I don't just listen to it, I feel it. Without it, a usually bright light would dim within my soul.

Let me be honest here for a moment, COVID-19 wreck shop in many people's personal lives this year. It brought many together, but it also caused several people to see their true colors and go their separate ways. For me it unpacked a lot of personal truths I wasn't prepared to have come to a head and did. After 5 years of being in a mentally and verbally abusive relationship, I decided for the sake of my kids and myself it was time to finally file the paperwork and leave for good.
