Easters Past 1920-2020
Each and every holiday season I really enjoy looking back at old photos. Remembering the past really gets the holiday spirit flowing. Memories are priceless and seeing how much traditions have changed over the years is interesting. I like showing the kids just how different things are today and to be honest, I like reminding myself as well.

The Vending Machine That Changed My Life
It was 1970 and I was a teenage boy with a point to prove to the world. "I was young and free!" I was a rebel in my own mind. A local bad boy. The hippy movement was in full swing and I was embracing it with both arms wide open. It was my time to shine. I had the most awesome car and the style to go with it. Nobody could stop me. (or so I thought)

Legend of the Bunnyman
The legend of the Bunnyman is known by just about every person in the town of Livingston Kentucky and surrounding areas. Over the years the story has spread all across the United States. This legend that happened less than one hour away from Jellico, Tennessee even inspired the horror movie The Bunnyman Massacre.

Dear Miss Rue
Dear Miss Rue, Where do I start? You came from a time of unacceptance and hardships, still you raised five boys all by yourself. But that's not all, you helped raise me too, a scrappy little white girl as you would laugh and call me. Oh how I loved my Miss Rue. You was the most loving, kindest and strongest woman I had ever known.

Fozzy's Story
It was October, 3rd 2019, I'll never forget that day because it was the day that two lives were forever changed. On my way home from work I passed a local animal shelter. I pass this shelter every single day on my way to and from work. On this particular day I decided to stop in and look around. I wasn't sure what I was looking for, if anything. Immediately, I laid eyes on this beautiful black cat. As I stopped at his cage I just felt like this cat needed me. His big golden eyes glared at me with fear as I tried to speak to him. He was trembling from head to toe and backed in the corner just as tightly as he could squeeze. I also noticed a sign on his door that said "Not for adoption".

The Most Haunted House In Jellico?
We have been asked many, many times to write about the most haunted house in Jellico. I must admit that I drive past this house several times a day but know very little about it's history. I'll also admit that at night, it can give off some rather creepy vibes. I decided to do some research and ask some locals to share their thoughts about it. I was told some rather unnerving stories.

Im a Water Scryer
Not many folks around here know about water scrying. I have done it for most of my life. It was taught to me by my grandmother. I always wanted to share my knowledge but I kept it to myself. Living in such a small town like Jellico, I was afraid of judgmental people. Water scrying has been considered by some as witchcraft. I want to explain that IT IS NOT! Water scrying is no different than ghost hunting or going to a psychic. I would even compare it to looking for shapes in the clouds. I guess it all really depends on how much you believe in these types of things.

When Families Fall Apart
It's one of the saddest things in the world to see a family fall apart. It's down right shameful to see a family trying to hurt and destroy each other. At some point it was a loving family sharing a history together. Sisters and brothers sharing the same bond, a bond that should be unbreakable. Money, property, jealousy, stubbornness these are all tricks of evil that comes along and rips families apart..

Please Grow George
My name is Polly. I don't live in Jellico (I'm from Jacksboro) but I wanted to share this story. Before my grandfather passed away he planted a red rose bush for my mamaw. He loved that red rose bush and babied it around daily. No matter what he done, it just wouldn't grow. If he was lucky, he would see one sickly bloom.
