"Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks." - Plutarch
They say time mends and heals your heart over the years But that’s not the case for me, because everything reminds me of you

When we met for the first time, we were only seventeen Didn’t have a care in the world and we did whatever we wanted I slowly became interested in you, and you had no clue
You and I were complete opposites But that didn’t matter to me Before I met you, I didn’t have any goal in life I never accomplished them at all
I always thought my life was okay but it wasn’t It felt like wherever I went, a dark cloud was always above me There came the rain as I step outside into the dull world
The nights when I’m all alone I get so lonely during those times I stare at the ceiling in silence Wanting to cry but I just can’t
It’s hard to believe that we’re not the same anymore And we’re so distant from each other, never said a word for years But now I realize you’re the one for me, and I just let you slip away
I always imagined what it would be like, growing old with someone Spending your days with them until your last moments
There are days when I wish I could go away Escape from this tiring place And go somewhere better and new I just wanna be free for once
No one really likes the scorching heat of the sun But we didn’t care, we played outside with water balloons Swimming in the pool, or at the beach, just the two of us
I dreamed of you in a long time But when I woke up My cheeks were soaking wet And I realized I’ve been crying But I know that
We rode on our bicycles one day The sun shone brightly And the skies were so blue Clouds moved slowly We stopped to look up at the sky
We were only young back then Didn’t know any better Always hurting each other Or arguing over nothing Then we decided to drift apart
