Poetry about memories

No one really likes the scorching heat of the sun

But we didn’t care, we played outside with water balloons

Swimming in the pool, or at the beach, just the two of us

We laughed and we smiled, and we cried together

I look back to those days and I felt happy with the memories

Photos of us are scattered everywhere in the house, filling up the walls

I pick up one of them, and I instantly feel my heart ache

Now, in a picture that’s stopped, you smiling at me like a summer

A single tear falls down my cheek and landed on the glass frame

I want to turn back time, a happy moment where I’m with you

Why are goodbyes so often bittersweet?

And your absence is what hurts me the most, and I wish it didn’t…

It’s been so long…

Where did you go?

I missed you so much.
