Lab Rat
Monday | The Lab I hear the snap. Then the click. Next comes an absence of all senses. I am swallowed whole, engulfed in blinding whiteness. My gut punches me. I want to laugh, but no words come out. A high-pitched tick pulses its anger. The anger echoes in my ear drum. The beat is seething, pulsing, hungry. It does not stop.

I stood apart from it all. I stood for ages, painting, sipping, pondering. I waited for inspiration. I waited for another voice to twin my melody. I waited for the harmony of laughter to catch my breath. I found you inside myself, and cried not to have known you better.

Consequences
A second entry created for Heather Hubler's delicious 'Unscramble' Challenge. For this poem, I challenged myself not only to create an acrostic, rhyming poem that Unscrambles a 12 letter word, I also challenged myself to decrease the first words by one letter (12, 11, 10, etc.) until the final line (which proved harder than I'd even expected). Then I ended with my 12-letter word. Here we go...
