The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a prequel to the beloved dystopian series, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I loved the Hunger Games series myself because I loved Katniss as a character. I thought her relationships with Peeta, President Snow, Prim and Gale were all poignant. The political agendas and symbolisms were gorgeous. I’m really glad that it got the praise it deserved and a wonderful film series that did it justice.

Midnight Sun
Midnight Sun is Twilight in Edward Cullen’s point of view. When an early draft of the manuscript was leaked, it really upset Meyer so much that she never finished it until many years later. I think it came to a point where many twilight fans, gave up hope of it ever being released having to rely on fan fiction for their needs. The Twilight Series has divided book lovers. Some readers love the intense teenage romance between Bella and the sparkling vampire, Edward. Others are repulsed at the writing and the characters. However I’ve seen some people say that through another person’s point of view it might chance the story to something more interesting.

Favourite Kalos Pokémon
The Kalos region is based on real life France with its mallow fields, grand castles and Paris-inspired architecture. The sixth generation of Pokémon brought some really cool features with the most prominent ones being the mega-evolutions and the new fairy type. Training and breeding mechanics were easier than ever, battling and online became easier and fun. Whilst Kalos has the smallest new roster of Pokémon, you don’t really notice it as the older Pokémon also do a lot in the games as well with the new forms and the fact you get a Kanto starter of your choice.

Favourite Unova Pokemon
Generation 5 of Pokémon seems to have split most fans. Some people love it for it's story, change of scenery and a fresh lineup of Pokémon that didn't include ones from a previous generation until the sequels. I've seen people complain that the designs from the fifth generation isn't as food as the previous ones and that Gamefreak have lost their ideas, but I disagree. Some of the designs from the first generation are in particularly disturbing like the Golbat with the long tongue. Johto is my favourite generation because I love how it ties to the first generation and I love the mixture of adorable and powerful designs.

Favourite Sinnoh Pokemon
I’ve been picking my favourite pokemon from each type from each generation. As we venture into other regions, it is starting to get harder to pick. I always thought a lack of choice was just a gen 1 issue, but as less pokemon get added, it’s surprising to see just how common certain types are. I feel like Sinnoh was one of the more popular regions. Everyone went mad for Garchomp, and celebrated new members of the Eevee family. Migrating from the GameBoy Advance to the DS was a thing, so people could send their beloved Pokemon from the past back into action. Ten years has gone fast. Feels like only yesterday that Diamon, Platninum and Pearl came out.

Favourite Hoenn Pokemon
I always considered Hoenn one of my favourite regions other than Johto. Migrating from GameBoy to GameBoy Advanced, it felt like pokemon itself was advancing. The new pokemon series was called Pokemon Advance. Pokemon and advance seemed to be really connected at the time. The only thing that I didn't like was the lack of backwards compatibility. There's no way to transfer pokemon from GameBoy to GameBoy advance, so it was a fresh start.

Gravitation by Maki Murakami
How I came across it? I've been into anime and manga since I was a child. In my teenage years, my manga passion exploded, and Gravitation was the first manga series that I really read and got into. Also one of the first I completed and read across all twelve volumes. Around the time I got into it in the early 2000s, Eiri and Shuichi were one of the most iconic couples at the time. It mixes dark character backstories with slapstick humour. It was the first media I consumed that honestly had LGBTQ+ characters and I was very hooked in the series.

My Favourite Kanto Pokemon
I discovered the Favourite Pokemon from each type generator on an LGBTQ+ server on discord. After I made one which covered all eight generations, I decided I should do one from each region. The Kanto pokemon, also known as the original 151, had some legendary pokemon that have remained firm favourites for years. Despite the multiple flaws, limits and glitches in the Gameboy games, it didn't stop the games from being as well-loved as they are now.

Favourite Pokémon from each type
Pokémon has been a big part of my life for so long and it feels weird to say that it’s over twenty years old. Whilst most of my favourite pokemon tend to be stuff from the old generations, I appreciate a lot of the more recent Pokémon as well. It still feels like only yesterday when Diamond and Pearl came out for the Nintendo DS. Throughout the years a lot of my favourites have remained the same whilst some have changed. I think I will eventually cover my favourite Pokémon from each type from each region.

Erutan by Raindancer
Raindancer is an independently released album by Erutan also known as Kate Covington or by her youtube name Katethegreat18. On her youtube channel, she's recorded many covers that are available to to download on her website. A lot of these covers include her own special arrangements. Having already loved her cover of Come Little Children, I decided to explore her more and noticed she had released an album.
