We'll start the thread:
After a 9-month hiatus, Ăsi Flores' return to the platform with the poem, "They Say Love Isn't Real," absolutely entranced us with its scenes of daily border life. Inspired by powerful graffiti art, we feel the humanity of life's challenges in every word and are left wondering who says love isn't real, and who is love real for?
Now it's your turn. Share your favorite stories in the comments below.

This is an old one, but I've been meaning to give it shout-out here for a while. The high school drama is quite a popular choice here on Vocal, and one in which I've been known to dabble myself, and as with any subgenre it has its poles at which certain extremes of lived experience might be narrated. Courtney Ann in the story below gives us a very welcome alterative take to that. Here are the familiar tropes - peer pressure, study anxiety, fashion and hormones - but with a consistent focus on lyricism over grittiness. The author is also a poet, and this is apparent from her prose style - "kissed by the sweet smell of rainwater" is just lovely. Nothing's been heard from this obviously gifted writer for two years now, but I post the above in the hopes of her reading this one day. Where are you, Courtney Ann? https://vocal.media/fiction/school-days-part-1

For someone who is not a poet, I have begun to appreciate the beauty and the talent that Vocal produces. Kristen Bayleat is one of the new authors I have recently been following, her work is amazing and natural. I recommend this piece of hers https://vocal.media/art/dear-favorite-tree

Along with family and holidays- depression hits us during these dark weeks of December. Randyâs piece isnât heavy handed, but that makes the factual poem that much stronger. https://vocal.media/poets/one-last-supper
