How To Open Wine Without a Corkscrew
There was a point where I lived in a warehouse with a bunch of other rag-tag artist individuals. None of us were particularly wealthy, but a lot of us did enjoy our wines. But, unlike the 40s of malt liquor we often drank, wine wasn't always easy to open unless it was the cheap stuff that came in boxes.

Prior to my current job, I was a food critic. I spent a huge amount of time going to bar after bar, sipping wine and cocktails while I took mental notes on everything from the service, to the ambiance, to the actual cocktails themselves.

We live in a wonderful age of accessible, affordable street food. Food trucks are mobile marvels of modern meal management from which hungry passersby can avail themselves of breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert from virtually any cuisine. With the number of options available having climbed steadily over the past several years, it seemed like time to look at food service areas to which less attention has been devoted. Trucks with beverages, particularly alcohol ones, as their main focus have been slower to propagate than their edibles-based brethren, though it seems that these itinerant drink stations are on the rise as well. After all, why go out to the bar when the bar can be brought to you? The following list of mobile bars touches locales all over the world where indulging your love of wine is as simple as stepping toward the curb.

Wine as a cocktail ingredient can often be difficult to use for a number of reasons. It’s challenging to find a delicate balance between the distinctive aromas and tannins of wine amongst other flavours. Sometimes wine can dry a drink out and dull the palate. I have struggled personally with trying to find new and exciting flavours that work in harmony with wine without the creation tasting like a twist on sangria. However there is an upside. With 67 wine producing countries in the world there is a boundless list of possibilities and flavour profiles to work with. Even the body and texture of wine can be used to create something special. It just takes a little patience, experimentation and understanding of flavour.

Many recipes require you to cook with wine, but, for new chefs, this may be a little bit of a difficult process. You may say "Oh, well, I can just buy a cheap cooking wine, pour it in my food, and there we go. That's it."
Anthony GramugliaPublished 7 years ago in ProofShould You Get a Wine Fridge?
Back in the 19th century, any wine that was worth preserving would be sent to the wine cellar. Nowadays, most of us don't have the space for a wine cellar...but do have the space needed for a wine fridge. As a result, the newest way to keep wines fresh is to get a wine fridge for storage and aging purposes.

Wine tasting has often come under fire for being pretentious, snooty, and at times, totally pointless. Part of the reason that a lot of people feel this way about wine tasting is because there are many misconceptions, myths, and downright falsehoods being passed as truth in certain wine circles.

Organic wine? It may be unfamiliar here, but the French have been drinking it for years. And though it's been slow to catch on in the US, recent scares about pesticides in fruit (such as cyanide-tainted Chilean grapes) and additives like sulfites (used in wine production) are pushing organic wines, as well as the whole organic food industry, into the mainstream spotlight.

There's something about attending a wine tasting that feels intimidating to many of us. The patrons at wine tastings tend to dress elegantly, have fancy names, and work jobs that have a certain level of prestige to them that often can make us feel a bit inferior. To a point, we often assume that they know things about wine that we don't.
