High Heel Boots
Your boots trampled me But my boots have sharp high heels Made for destruction Author’s Note: Welcome to day fifteen on my path along the fifty-day song/lyric-based senryū challenge! Today’s poem is based on “These Boots are Made for Walking” by Nancy Sinatra, which you can listen to below. Even though the original song is about kicking a cheating guy to the curb, I feel that it can also be uplifting when the world in general has you down. I hope you enjoy it and my poem!

For some, home was never a place of peace, love, and happiness. No memory of a house of happy children prevails. Instead, home life was simply a nightmare of horror without hope. Indeed, the psychosis of pain mixed with the chaos of doom from the narratives and folktales of Korean cinematic horror (K-horror) discloses the recurring remembrance of lost childhoods full of the mental anguish of emotional abuse, the sufferings of physical abuse, and the torture of sexual abuse.
