When Poppy requests work, Poppy gets what she wants. So, Poppy, here is my first entry into your incredibly fun prompt challenge:
1. Take a convoluted idea. Something ridiculous and likely to drive you insane. (or just poetically moan, again)
2. Spend way too long pondering over whether it is worth the mental pain.
3. Create haikus and microfiction to avoid the inevitable first draft
4. When the words want to have their out, it's time to prove your craft
5. Let the page or screen have it with literal poetic diarrhea
6. Look at it, read it, marvel and then refine and remix the idea
7. Wait no longer than five or six minutes, not hours before publishing
8. Once it's published, try to avoid checking, refreshing and checking
9. Know that the comments will come through eventually
10. Dharr will say something dark, but kind, inevitably.
11. Revel in your own deeply satisfying crapulence
12. Feel overtaken by a sudden sense of elegance
13. Raise a glass to Poppy, Burns, Davis and the Saras
14. Give a toast to the Holmes Two, Kristen, Dahl and Danas
15. Celebrate and comiserate with Heather, Novel and Grz on your creation
16. Share with Lamar, RP and Celia a kind word or two and a salutation
17. Rinse, refresh and repeat
!8. But remember to be discreet
19. When following this wise advice
20. A world with more poets like me, is anything but nice.

Thanks for reading!
Author's Notes: Before I get my head down and concentrate today on NaNoWriMo type madness, thought I'd slip this one out.
It is for Poppy's challenge, as mentioned at the beginning, which you can find out more about here:
The term Paulitical was coined by Novel Allen in her piece Puzzlementationismitis, which you can check out here:

Funny and fun! Congratulations on Top Story!
See what I miss when I am busy writing 😉. Good stuff.
this was so good, belated congrats on top story!
Excellent! I feel like I may have been tutored in the Paulitical approach without realising it! Enjoyed this. Made me chuckle!
This is very interesting and gave me a new take on poetry.
wow
😆 This is great and very relatable. ☺️
Very clever and creative!!
That was pretty clever, entertaining and humorous 😅. Congrats buddy!
This is so brilliant!! Made me smile, thank you so much for gracing us all with your creativity :)
Congrats on the top, pal!
Congratulation
Always something fun going on with you guys
Well done!
I love that this set of "instructions" (for a lack of better word) was insightful, fun and poetic! It's always fun to see what you've come up with in your mad scientist poet lab!! Great work Paul and congratulations on Top Story!
Congratulations on Top Story!!
You are a legend! No complaints promise! Congrats on top story! 🤍
A lovely recipe indeed. ❤️ Sounds like very cool challenge. 😎 Congrats on Top Story too!
Congrats on the TS
Rollicking read… 1 & 2 are typically as far as I get! Such a lot of effort… so much easier to enjoy reading everyone else’s work. Thanks.
So many things to love! I feel like doing a little list, like Poppy did, lol. First, my favorite part: "11. Revel in your own deeply satisfying crapulence 12. Feel overtaken by a sudden sense of elegance" -- Made me giggle so much more than I was expecting, "crapluence" OMG! 😆 But then, that turn to elegance, too true -- relatable AF. I feel like I get a nice insight into your process with this, like it's genuinely a Paulitical poetic programme, if you will! Full of the self-awareness and self-deprecation that is paramount in your work and that makes it such a treat to read: "5. Let the page or screen have it with literal poetic diarrhea | 6. Look at it, read it, marvel and then refine and remix the idea." Ha! #8...Yeah, I don't do that at all...Then there are the days you literally post and run, and come back to a blown out notification bell! What fun! Hehe. What a humbling shout, to be included beside poets WAY more talented than I. And Burns too? Damn, Paul, you are too kind, truly (no arguing, lol!). All the names, though...Everyone on this list is so talented, so awesome. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Great entry, Paul. Poppy is gonna have her work cut out, choosing a winner!
This is my work plan from now on!
This was awesome!! Loved all the little extras you snuck in. And #11 is now my mantra...I will be having that printed onto a flag and flying it everywhere. What a complete mind vacation :) Huit cents
lol funny.
Lol #10! 🤣🤣 Everything was so nice until #20. That wasn’t nice at all! The world is only nice because of poets like you! Yes, even if you're an accidental one! Oh no, now I gotta say something dark. Nah I got nothing, lol! This was a very Paulitical list of instructions on how to write a Paulitical poem! Coming soon to notifications near you: How to Make a Paulitical Story!
