My heart... my soul... my Kinobe. My beautiful, loving Pharaoh hound and husky mix was dying. Only six years old and he had kidney failure. There was nothing the vet could do. He had stopped eating and couldn't even keep water down anymore. My tears were never ending as my roommate carried him into the vet's office to let him peacefully slip away. As they were injecting him I just held his face, apologizing over and over. Gave his beautiful face a thousand goodbye kisses. Stared into his golden eyes one last time. We had a connection that I'd never had with any human or animal before. I had rescued him from the local humane Society when he was a puppy, but really, he had rescued me in the long run... Fast forward through the past year and a half, I tried searching for something to repair the giant hole in my heart. There was nothing. No ordinary dog could ever replace him. In every shelter, I searched for a familiar face. Hoping that maybe he was really just lost and I'd find him again. I had reached the denial stage of grief. I figured adding a new dog to the household would help distract me from the loss. Nothing seemed to work out so far. Every possible trail was usually a dead end. I decided to just give up. I'd never find anything like my boy ever again.

It was just a normal day. It was a Friday, I believe. My oldest daughter was spending the night at Grandma's and the youngest was still taking her nap. My boyfriend of nine years had told me over and over for nine years that we couldn't have a cat because he was severely allergic. I had my suspicions about this claim, as he frequently visited homes with cats and didn't have REALLY bad reactions.

What to Buy BEFORE You Bring Home a Dog
This is an essentials list for anyone who is seeing a dog in their future. Preparation is key! As spontaneous and fun as it would be to come home with a dog that was unplanned, this will only create complications! To insure you are setting you and your new buddy up for success, be sure to do your research and get supplies so you can focus on bonding and training instead of trying to run to the store to pick up every item you forgot last minute! You also want to make sure you are purchasing the correct items that are safe for your pooch. Taking that extra time can save a lot of trouble in the future.

I love cats. Cats are my version of babies. They are adorable, fluffy, and I'm basically obsessed with them because they are so incredibly cute. All cats have a special place in my heart, primarily because the cute factor makes my heart melt whenever I see them.

A day trip to London for an office meeting. Bear and I woke around 4:30. We went for a quick walk, Bear relieved himself of the evening meal and drink. Getting home I ran a hot bath remembering we had a 200 mile plus journey ahead of us. I feed him, possibly a little more than usual, and a few treats of dried tripe. I than sat in the tub for an hour and had a shave.
Why a Yorkie Is One of the Best Pets
Now, are all dogs the best pets? Yes. In my opinion, a human's personality can be matched to one of the hundreds of breeds of dogs that are out there. Dogs are our children, our best friend, our accomplice and the loves of our lives. But Yorkies are on another level, one of the best dog breeds to raise and keep by your side. But what makes them such good pets?
Jorge EscamillaPublished 7 years ago in PetlifeWhy, On an Abstract Level, I’m Against Pets
People like to criticize PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, because of how many animals they euthanize. These armchair critics would have us believe that PETA euthanizes them because they don’t care about animals.

"Chickens? Really? I have bird dogs!" That was the first thing my hubby said to me when I asked about getting chickens when I moved into his 3 acres about 7 years ago.

Penny was her name and she was the sweetest puppy that you could ever meet. A mini dapple dachshund, a gorgeous spotted puppy that even had spots inside her eyes. We brought her home from the breeder and it was love at first sight, especially for my 11-year-old. They bonded instantly and what was originally my dog quickly became hers. They spent time together, they slept together, and she was the first thing my daughter grabbed when she woke up in the morning. I would find the two of them watching cartoons cuddled up on the couch. It was truly a sight to see.
