Life of an Empath
It is hard to explain... so I guess I'll just start at the beginning... Since I was very young I had this 'tick' I was able to feel other people's emotions, if I passed someone in a store - even if they smiled - I could feel sadness, and I would carry that sadness through the rest of my day... at those young ages I didn't understand what was wrong with me... I grew up in a hard home for the first several years of memory... My dad was abusive towards us... my mom and my siblings... He was mean... and constantly angry... I don't have many memories of a young age where I didn't fear his pressence, even after he left... Most of my younger memories I remember being scared and trying to walk on eggshells... being taken from my bed in the middle of the night by my mother and waking up at someone else's home sometimes my grandparents and sometimes a family from our church... it took a long time for us to mend ourselves in our own way... Mom had to emmerse herself into work to take care of our now broken home and she had to hide her pain from us while my younger siblings and I cared for each other and the home.

Stop Your Limiting Beliefs!
So, what are limiting beliefs? They are any belief you have that hinders your ability to reach your goals and they are very powerful. Most limiting beliefs stem from our childhood or past experiences we’ve been through. The way we were raised also plays a rule in limiting beliefs & most of them are deeply rooted. This makes them hard to find especially because we believe them to be true and we have lived with them for so long. I look at it as an invisible barrier that literally stops you from achieving what you want in life. Limiting beliefs are NOT true, because each and every single one of us are able to achieve anything we want in life, we just have to BELIEVE we can.

Today I breathe....and pass out
It was hard to wake up today. I had all night a set of perfectly shaped, 3.5 year old feet kicking me in the head and chest. My son has mastered sleeping horizontal, and it seems to only affect him when he sleeps in my bed. He never sleeps in his own yet for the record, so I'm not really sure if he has a preference depending on which bed. So needless to say I chickened out on starting today.

Navigating the “what now?”-ness of accomplishments
Completing a major milestone is great, and for most, it’s a time to relax and enjoy the art of nothingness for a little while. For others, it’s time to reflect on how reaching this point, once, felt so unattainable. Yet, with these overwhelmingly positive feelings, comes an undeniable sense of uncertainty.

Being Different.
It is hard to deal with judgement especially when you are recieving it from the people you love. When you had no choice but to grow up in a certain place and use what you were given to the best of your ability. Maybe you grew up in a tightly woven small town, and were tought to base your purpose on a certain religion to make meaning out of your life. Just one example, although there are billions of other communities and traditions that exist. Ways of being that were passed down from generation to generation. All meaningful and purposeful in their own ways, I have learned that there is no right or wrong belief. Humans, still do human things even if they are aligned with the best kind of traditions and beleifs and religions. People still disagree, and people still judge which does not make sense you would think that they would practice what they preach right?

Better Late Than Never
Better Late Than Never: This One is For You Post one of the series Title: EYES ON THE PRICE When I asked a few people what their New Year’s resolutions were, most people responded to not making any resolutions this year. They’re not going to make any promises to themselves that they know they can’t keep up with, and understandably so, right? After all, everyone is afraid of going into February with that feeling of being too late to continue in the pursuit of their self-development journeys and missing out on various opportunities.

Recovering from recovery
A decade ago, there was a big focus on children and orphans infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. There was so much death and tens of thousands of children were emotionally, physically, socially and economically displaced. People were facing discrimination from being directly and indirectly being affected. I remember when a close relative died of AIDS and the rest of the family was too scared to tell anyone the truth. But one day I was giving a television interview and told our story and my poor sister called saying people at work may now treat her as if she has it. I know right! The ignorance, but it was the reality then.

It's Not You; It's Me
I really didn’t want to write about this today, but it was the prompt I pulled randomly out of my box of journal prompts so I challenged myself to tackle this topic. Writing about relationships that are draining seemed like a difficult topic because I am picky about who I allow in my life so I didn't think I had any truly draining relationships, but as I started writing, the relationship I discovered I did and the most draining relationship I found surprised me.

Writing A Love Letter To A Specific Life Problem With My Non-Dominant Hand
It was back in July 2019, a Saturday night that the desire to become a User Experience (UX)/User Interface (UI) Designer came out of the blue. This was no ordinary Saturday night, although the most recent events were a blur; learning how to make a few basic drinks in a bartending course (my desire was to move from corporate to hospitality at the time). Who knew that making a few G&T's from scratch between moi and the trainers stopwatch would be so life changing. Then again, a psychic told me that if I decide not to pursue bartending, that I'll work in IT instead - and that I'll be good at it. #bingo

Now is Divine
How many of us wake up everyday and think, “ Today is the day I start living my dreams...” only to find ourselves years down the road in the same job, in the same city, with the same daily routine, doing exactly the opposite? How many of us are still waiting for the perfect time to do what our soul is calling us to do?————————————————————

Books and Their Writer's
I loved writing from an early age; however, I never thought I would become one until I fell into the industry by accident. No I wouldn't say accident, I was unemployed student at the time, and I thought I could make some money doing what I loved. I started to write online until I gradually convinced myself I was a freelance writer, even though I couldn't justify my new job to myself. While the pay is by no means fair, the old adage of some money is better than none is all too true.
