A Summer At Harvard
You never know where life is going to take you. But at the same time, many of us have a certain intuition about where we want to take our lives. In a strange way, everything always seems to happen at just the right time. But we can only ever says such things in hindsight. While the past is set in stone, the future is uncertain, and that's what makes the whole game of living so much fun. Some people describe life as an hourglass with the top half covered. We know how much sand has fallen, but we don't know how much is left—could be a lot, could be a little. For that reason, each of us owes it to ourselves to make the most out of every picosecond we have, because beyond our short lives is a long continuum of time and space. We can't stop the flow of time, but by living wholly in the present, we can chart our own course.

Shattered by my Own Evil Monologue
I'll start by saying this: I had depended on other people way too much as I grew up. I depended on other people's approval, thoughts, opinions, emotions, and physical contact. When I look back at myself all that comes to my mind is the phrase emotional leech.

Walking my way into the morning sun.
Ahh. What a great day! I thought I'd wake up early and go to the beach for a cup of coffee. No! Its freaking winter, it's very cold! It's so windy. Plus I have so much work to do and have to finish my homework. Why do I still have to study anyway? I hate this morning! I just really want to go to bed. Maybe I'll just go back to bed.

Rest
I am writing this blog post as I lay in bed with an empty house. Today, everyone is doing their own thing, including myself. The crazy thing, is that I have been being prompted to rest for about a week now. I usually start off really well. I’ll light a candle, take a nice hot shower, eat a healthy but satisfying meal, maybe meditate a little bit, read a book, all that good stuff. All of these things sound peaceful, until I add that as I was lighting the candle, I was also thinking about the 5 errands that I have to run. As I took a shower, I was interrupted three times by my daughter asking me for juice. As I ate my healthy meal, I was scrolling through social media and creating posts to promote my services. As I meditated... well, I was actually pretty relaxed then, but as I read my friends new book, I noticed myself writing notes and making edits with my favorite blue pen. Outside of my 20 minute meditation, I did a whole lot of “resting” that was really just working in disguise. Some of those things, like the shower interruptions, I can’t control, but for the most part, I have got to make adjustments.

New Home, New Mindset
Let's jump right in: My four-year relationship crashed and burned right before quarantine, but I just moved out of my ex’s house a month ago. Frankly, I thought living with my ex would be less awful than living alone during a pandemic. I was very, very wrong. It was textbook-toxic. We still argued, acted like children, and hurt each other, even after we called it quits. I was angry, I was heartbroken, and I was under massive stress. No day was a good day until I gathered all the remaining strength I had and moved out. Waking up that first morning in my own space was a massive relief. The contrast was like night and day. Though I am broke and alone, I am also free, and that freedom from stress is worth it.

Remembering Yourself
Sometimes we just get so busy with our lives that we forget about ourselves. Between taking care of family, running errands for our spouses/partners, taking care of the kids, double shifts at work with a side of a shitty boss overworking you, bills on top of bills, and life overall just throwing you lemon after lemon, we barely have enough space to fit Me in. At least just for a day or the weekend. You look up in the mirror one day and you say to yourself “What happened to me? Whew,I look a mess! And I’m sooooo tired.”. I mean, when was the last time you got your hair and nails done? When was the last time you had a spa day? Went out with the girls? Treated yourself to dinner and a movie? Well, now’s the time to drop some of that weight you’re carrying and take a load off, ladies. Turn off your phones or put em on vibrate. Tell everyone “I’m taking care of me right now. I’ll call/text you back later.”. Or, heck, don’t pick up the phone at all if you wanna take the whooooole day. I don’t blame y’all for that one. There are times, ladies, where we need time off from being Ms. or Mrs. Everyone’s caretaker just for once and ditch all of the priorities and responsibilities. So what if others get upset? LET THEM! I mean, come on. Not having time to let your hair down every once in a while and have a little fun messes with our sanity!! And besides, some of us don’t like getting split ends in our hair or chips in our nails. What girl does? Having time for Me is like a breath of fresh air for us. Taking that deep breath, feeling nothing but hands lathering your beautiful locks, hands, and feet with every lotion and shampoo galore or just taking a nice hot shower night or day.....FEELS LIKE HEAVEN!! Sometimes we need to just say “You know what? I think I’m gonna take some time for me. She and I haven’t hung out in a while. Think I’m gonna do that today/this week.”. Another thing. Don’t forget about your dreams. We get so crammed in our lives, we forget them too. Your future achievements, who you are, what you are, who you want to be. They’re all just as important and you should include that with your day with Me,even if that’s only a couple times a week. Because remembering you is very unique. Especially for all independent, confident, beautiful women like yourselves. Much love to y’all. 🥰 Because we are all beautiful. And we owe it to ourselves to self-treatment for that. For all our hard work and being the women we are today. When is it our turn for our happiness inside out? When is it our turn to do something we want for a change? When’s it our turn take recognition in who we are? Our personalities, our likes, our dislikes, our favorite restaurants, what we like to do for our free time, what careers we want and what dreams we have? Whether it’s what we wear, how we do our hair, the way we dress, what hobbies we have and like to do,we should be able to should be able to have a break for all of that. We deserve it after all. Especially if some of us are in the house all day managing the house. Well,I say, it’s time for us to drop the role of a Cinderella for once and have a night being Shania Twain! Have a night to yourself or with the girls! Do you, boo! And feel good about it. Never regret a moment or a minute of it either. Have fun remembering you. And always remember you.

Every step of the way
It has been a long ride so far... There are no words enough to describe this path, while some might call it a winding road, others will call it a difficult path, without forgetting those who call it an unpredictable path. And while I woundn't agree any less with them, I also wont forget those who see it as a learning road, a healing journey and a procress that lead to a greater outcome.

i'm getting a headache
I'm losing my patience. It's hysterical how we take the things we do everyday for granted. It's hysterical how we think things like doing laundry or grocery shopping are normal and boring until they become a task that involves so many procedures. Check to see if the store is open, check to see if you have a mask, don't forget the hand sanitizer, don't bring your own shopping bags. Don't touch anything you don't plan on buying, don't get to close to anybody else. Only go out if you need too, but make sure you are going out so you don't lose your mind. Meanwhile, everyone and their mother has decided now would be the perfect time to buy a bike or take up walking.

Best Book Club Questions for "Not Cancelled"
Many of us are just emerging from lockdown measures due to COVID-19. Slowly moving towards our new normal, we are starting to re-engage in pre-pandemic activities such as eating out, playing sports or visiting with friends.

Who Am I?
I feel absolutely insane most of the time. Thoughts take over my head what seems to be demons. Or am I making it up. You see I have many pieces of myself. Like a shattered mirror in a realm of time loops. As I try to intuitively seek out this God, Source, Creator.. I also believe that God is me and that I am all of those things.. I like to say i'm a Goddess, because why the fuck not. I always imagine myself in Greek, Egyptian, and Mayan/Aztec cultures, me being a wise Oracle, Warrioress and Queen. These are merely just pieces of the shattered mirror I mentioned. Maybe i'm crazy, I want you to call me schizophrenic, I feel like I have many personalities, or maybe i'm what people say, a multidimensional being. But this reality is filled with so many lies I don't know what to believe or who to trust, so I trust myself, family and close small knit of friends. I imagine myself as one of those old wise witch ladies that lives in isolation away from civilization with flowers and overgrown plants around her house with lots of cats/animals roaming around, AKA the crazy lady that talks to animals, I mean I'm already on that path and I accept that fate entirely. Am I becoming? Am I ascending?

How to be Healthy
Life is funny. We get up we go to work, we earn money, and at the end of our lives, we die. It does not have to be that disappointing though. We can do so much more than we think we are capable of. I will be honest I am so exhausted after work that all I want to do is sit in my comfy, large spinning chair and watch Netflix or people watch from my window. However, that is not a healthy way to live life. Sure, I do enjoy it and we should do the things we enjoy right? Right. So, you might be asking me, what is the healthy thing you do that keeps you going? Well my dear audience and readers, I love to dance. I like turning up that music that sounds like trash to my parents and grooving in my room, sometimes while cleaning. I sing the lyrics out loud so much so that my next-door neighbours are shutting their windows tight. There is something fun and relaxing about moving your body to shake it up by Taylor Swift while reaching for that last spec of dust with your swifer duster. Or I like to watch choreographed videos of dance and then copying them to my best ability. I am a huge fan of Matt Steffanina Choreography because it challenges me to move more, as well as Kyle Hanagami. They are both superb choreographers and you feel cool doing the moves and not silly at all. Sure, you can dance silly if you want and get a good laugh from everyone around you, but dance makes me feel good about myself.
