Why do people fear change?
When talking about personal challenges, situations, or large-scale systemic challenges, we see that something seems to be stopping us from advancing further in our development or really doing what we truly love. But when it comes to organizations, we know that without strategically introducing change and involving people along the process, we might just end up gathering a huge crowd of people resisting the change we are trying to work out. I have always wondered why that is, and frankly, there is a lot of writing about it out there. Before we dig into specifics, what is change really?

The Bold Red Lip
“Give a woman the right lipstick and she can conquer the world.” —Unknown. I believe in the power of a bold, red lip. We’ve all witnessed a woman walk into the room, and immediately all eyes are on her. Every head turns to catch a glimpse as she passes by them. There is a palpable energy exuding from her. She is simultaneously fierce and kind, strong yet gentle, sexy and approachable. She seems to have the kind of confidence that grabs life by the horns, opens wide her arms to love, and smiles at the future.

Is 2020 over with yet?
2020 has been a headache and that is putting things mildly. In January I was living in a motel on the east side of town. Struggling as it was to make ends meet, I also had my son with me. I would wake up every morning get us both ready for the day, drop my son off at school and then I would head to work. Now I did not have your normal 9-5-day job, I was my own boss. Made my own schedule and worked my own hours, but it became exhausting.

The Broke College Grad Diaries
For those of you who have watched my YouTube videos or who know me personally, I started a video series meant to inspire and inform people about life after graduating college. I ended up only making one video and it was the last video to air on my channel. I loved making YouTube videos and I loved the concept behind this series even more but, I just wasn't able to make it work with my life at the time.

Self-love and Lack Thereof!
Self-love and Lack Thereof Can you love someone even if you don’t love yourself? Unpopular opinion--yes, you can, but let me tell you why you shouldn’t. First, what do you know about love? If you loved yourself, then you’d already know the answer. “Why is it not okay to love someone if you don’t love yourself?” Now, I didn’t say it wasn’t--I said you shouldn’t. When you love someone before yourself, you ultimately give them the power over you to retrieve what you believe is love and because you want their love for selfish gain. You have love to give, but how would you know that? You do anything and everything for the love that you lack. You give yourself; light. You give your light away rather than spread your love, thinking that it’s love. If you truly loved yourself, then you’d respect yourself enough to withstand any negative feedback putting out your light from someone who lacks it.

What We Need vs. What We Want
A key part of adulthood is being able to know the differences between knowing ‘what we want’ vs. knowing ‘what we need.’ Understanding that you must be able to divide up the two categories fairly and also be able to balance them healthily with our seemingly limitless desires at times is key to being a fully formed individual. As children, we are taught to temper our desires to manageable levels and to remember to not be selfish especially when it conflicts with the needs of others.

Life’s Never Ending Story
How many of us have always known what we wanted to do or be when we grow up? I don’t really know of many people who would say an over worked and under valued mom. However, here I am!! Don’t get me wrong I love what I do on most days. Then add in Covid the year of 2020 and my jump into healthcare.
