Today is the “better”.
We have all said it. Hell, we use it so often and so religiously that it became a safe place to fall. The comfort of those four words somehow gives an illusion that change happens overnight, without effort or practice. As if a single, simple wishful thought can do it on its own.

How we can all stay sane and connected during covid
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling quite nuts at the moment. Whether it's mostly coincidence or not, I kind of feel as if my mental health, and indeed our mass mental state as a nation, as a human race, will never quite be the same again.

The Reflection Of Truth...
My mind was cluttered with thoughts, so I decided to take a walk. At that moment I noticed a house that wasn't there before, wondering if I had overlooked it. As I stare at the house, an older woman comes out & ask me, "Did you find the answers that you was looking for"? Excuse Me, I inquired. You've been looking in all the wrong places, she replied. And I can help you find the answers to the questions that keeps you up all night. Please come in & I'll grab you some tea. Curious about her statement, I accepted her invitation then walked over the threshold of her home & notice that she had material things everywhere. In a daze admiring the grandfathers clock in the corner & the golf clubs made from stones that was propped on a glass stool. I exhaled the word, "Beautiful". Deviating towards the hallway, observing a door opening with enough light to creep through the wooded door. Curious about the room, I peek in & see nothing but a mirror sitting in the middle of the floor with a chair in front of it.

Believe In Yourself
A lot of times we struggle with finding a way to believe in ourselves. We often look for people to believe in us, our dreams, and ambitions and we forget that it takes belief in self. We can beg friends & family to believe in us, but they are not required to do so. Your obligation is to you. The dreams are not going to come by sitting around hoping and wishing that you would make it to the “big time”. But how likely is it someone will call you and say come audition for this show, or come sing at this arena, or come showcase your art at this museum. No, the work you do will be better once you believe that you deserve that goal.

Stay Humble
Having been the person that used to complain about doing laundry, I wish I hadn’t. Sitting on the floor of a laundromat because there is one bench, not to mention the change machine is non-existent and half of the machines are broken, I’d do anything to have a washing machine and dryer in my home again. This is far worse than ever throwing clothes in and turning them on in my kitchen while doing anything else I wanted to during that time period.

Reinventing Yourself
I have recently found myself wanting to change things about me. Not in bad a way, not in a way where I'm having an identity crisis. I just want to change the way I dress, my aesthetic, and what I listen to because lately I've felt like the clothes I have been wearing and what I'm listening to and how I live just aren't me anymore. They're the me from 3 years ago, when I was a completely different person.

Opening up: writing my first article online about surviving sexual abuse.
Well... it was a very difficult decision for me to make about opening up about my trauma. I’ve read lots of anonymous and not so anonymous sexual abuse survival stories, and I never thought it would be the way I opened up about it. These last few months though, the cold weather and rainy day’s have affected me more than I realized, and I felt the urge to just let it out. Considering the response I’ve had from family about it, I figured, you know what, maybe just telling my story online will help someone else. I don‘t care if it it read by 1 person or 1 million people.
