Creativity as an antidote for challenging times.. Top Story - November 2020.
“When nothing is certain, everything is possible.” Mandy Hale The year of 2020 is an eventful one, to say the least. The intensity, the chaos, the bizarre changes in the society; which at times feel surreal, resembling an apocalyptic movie more than the reality. According to certain ancient texts, however - there is a bigger picture at play, something that has been gaining its momentum since 2012; namely the end of one age and the beginning of another. Everyone remembers the “end of the world” prediction connected to the Mayan calendar - apparently (like is the case with many old texts) it was not meant to be taken literally, and the correct interpretation would be - this is the end of the world as we know it.

Getting ready for a new day
I'm writing this on one of the first Mondays I felt good in a while. I don't feel exhausted. I don't feel anxious. I don't feel alone. I feel good. This year has been really tough, full of uncertainty, challenges, new beginnings, and a lot of sudden decisions to make. I definitely won't hide it, it broke me a little.

Live fast die young
By the time I was in my late teens, I despised the idea of “serious relationships” or the so-called “normal life.” I was a classic case of film industry conditioning, growing up on stories that screamed of live fast die young mentality, raging hormones, and purposely immoral behaviors. It was late nineties, but in Eastern Europe we still hung on to the Hollywood 80-s films where the most popular characters were rebellious teenagers, social outcasts, charismatic serial killers and prostitutes, while the MTV stuffed our heads with outright degrading or extremely dark entertainment products that glorified self-destruction, depression, promiscuity, and rage.

I Believe That This Is Going To Do It.
I don't have a clue as to what I am doing right now. But I think this is what I am supposed to be doing. I was encouraged to start writing a blog almost 2 hours ago by a good friend of mine. Thanks Nicole! It's always been something that's been on my radar, but like most of us, I didn't think I was good enough. Well...here goes nothing.

Settling for less, longing for more
Sometimes relationships keep existing because people have chosen to trade true happiness for comfortable numbness. I wonder how many folks get to ask themselves this: When in our lives do we reach the point of killing our dreams and settling for safety?

Insights from the Surf World
What inspires you? What brings you so much excitement and pure joy and yet calms your mind and heart completely at the same time? For me, it is the ocean and the beautiful sport of surfing! In January 2019, I decided that I would interview as many surfers and surf photographers from around the world as possible to learn from them and gain their diverse perspectives.

Football, golf, and wine
Life is quiet moments, followed by chaos followed by quiet moments. This week for me has been a series of football games, golf tournaments followed by football games. All had wine involved, or something stronger. One thing I have learned is alcohol is an interesting thing. I do not have anything against drinking or others drinking, but I have learned that my friends drink a lot. Its all within a responsible realm, no one got drunk, no one drove while tipsy, but every evening meal was accompanied by a drink. We drank beer and wine while we cheered for the different football teams. We cheered with drinks when the favorite golfers played well and a favorite won. There was never any conversation about how much someone was drinking or that drinking was wrong. The people around me joked and had fun and accepted the drinking as part of the fun. The conversation was around the events happening. We also teased about what wine tasted better and which foods were better for us and which we just wanted. There was no judgment, no fear, hate for things that just are.

Things I'm Passionate About Part 4
This is part 4 in my series of subjects I’m passionate about, buckle in! 1. Cyborgs, Cybernetics, and Transhumanism This is a long-time love of mine stemming as far back as 80s sci-fi action movies. The idea that we can combine our biology with technology to create something new to define as “humanity” still makes my imagination get excited with the possibilities even after all these years. I was one of the original users of the Better Humans original website about transhumanism I think 17 years or so ago and one of the first subscribers to h+ magazine as I recall. I’d like to expand on this interest with profiles of my favorite cyborgs from fiction and reality, what I think a cyborg is versus say a pseudo-cyborg, cybernetics technologies and how they’ve advanced over the years both in sophistication but also in social acceptance, and transhumanism itself as a concept in my personal viewpoints. This subject is as much about pop-culture and technological advancement as it is about philosophy, psychology, and the progress of humanity as a whole. It’s a far-reaching umbrella that I have a LOT to say about.

A New Life
If I were to start a new life, which I am. Ill change my diet, I will work out, I will be able to stay up all hours. I want to get fit for hiking, I want companionship in my life, I want friends, and I would like to be beautiful inside. So now with this goal in mind how will I make the small steps. Go to the grocery store, organize my pantry with sticky notes, stop drinking coffee, and only drink water and juice. Be happy, be proud of myself for making such a goal. Stop smoking by saving every penny I can. Before, I had a God Jar, money for God. Ill start that again. Ill make a prayer for my husband, but first I need to make a prayer for all that I want to see in myself. Yet just like smoking I have a desire for dating sites, maybe it will get easier to stop once I start praying.
