More than author.
Introduction We all evolve as we learn and grow over the years and for me it is something I welcome. I am at a point in my life where I am really finding myself again. I am rediscovering what makes me happy and that is writing. I am learning there is more to writing than what I grew up believing or maybe it is what I was taught to think. This article is about how I began writing when I was young. What I am learning about writing and how I am evolving into more than an author.

There’s that great business idea — the one you’ve been telling everyone about but you keep shelving it and waiting for “just the right time” to get it started. 10 Quotes To Emphasize The Importance Of Our Focus
Okay, so today, I am going to talk about the "F" word. I think it's important we address it because it really does affect us greatly. If we are not careful, any incorrect use of the "F" word may lead us to great devastation, failure, and unhappiness. I'm not talking about the expletive "F" word here though, although that actually isn't exactly beneficial and helpful either, I'm talking about the "F" word that our mindset determines, and that is "focus". Focus is actually linked to another "F" word, which is "feelings", and the reason being is that whatever we focus on tends to determine our feelings. When we focus on negative things, and negative aspects of our life, naturally we are going to feel negative, upset, sad, hurt, and unhappy. It's no different in reverse though. When we focus on positive things, and positive aspects of our life, naturally we are going to feel happy, grateful, joyous, excited, and motivated. Let's be honest, life throws a lot of crap our way, and it's not exactly easy to continually think positive, and focus all on lollipops and rainbows. The problem is, when we start to allow these situations and circumstances to consume us, and we consistently focus on everything that is going wrong, everything we don't have, and everything that isn't going our way, then we are also going to consistently feel unhappy, unsatisfied, miserable, and upset. We begin to start feeling more and more sorry for ourselves, and before long, our life seems as if it just one big disappointment. Our mindset becomes totally influenced by negativity, and due to this, our life follows suit.

A Peek Into My Blue Mind
As a toddler, my parents would take me to the beach and let me roam the shores in nothing but a diaper. I think that was when I fell in love with water and it is no surprise that even as an adult, my love hasn't waned. Ironically, I hate drinking it, but I love being in and around it. Some of my fondest memories from my childhood and young adulthood years include the beaches in my hometown. I often sought comfort in the familiar smells of the salty sea air as well as the therapeutic sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. This was my happy place. When I decided to leave my country and explore others, a criterion of finding housing was that it had to be close to a body of water, so that I could not only channel memories of my earlier days but also have a peaceful energy source a stone's throw away.

No One Fights Alone
On May 12, 2017, I gave birth to my second child and was already the mother of a 1-year-old. A few good days in the hospital until I suddenly fell ill. My chest hurt, a pain so sharp, so crippling. I could no longer breath. I was hunched over, screaming in agony. What the hell is going on? My doctor thought I had a blood clot in my lungs from the caesarian section I had to have. Why else would a perfectly healthy, strong, and young woman have her lungs so full of fluid and why else would her heart be stopping?....Wrong. I almost wish this would've been true. It could've been better than the alternative. Emergency transportation to a larger hospital, many CT scans later, and "YOU HAVE CANCER." What? This can't be real life. I'm only 25-years-old. I have a 4-day-old daughter and a 1-year-old son at home. I'm in a happy marriage to a wonderful man.

Do You Take Pride In Being A multitasker? Your Brain Is Paying The Price
I used to deride myself that I am not able to multitask. I can only do one thing at a time. I need attention for even the simplest task, as simple as reading a newspaper, listening to the news or even eating. I switch off completely just to savour my favourite classical music on a radio or playlist. Sometimes I get upset with myself. I know people who have music at the background while working, sort of ''music while you work''. This is not for me, I can either listen fully to the music or get distracted by it. I am unable to do the two.

My strength
Originally from the Nature Isle of the Caribbean Dominica, I am Kairan Dubose. Second daughter of my mom out of four (three females, one male) and first and only daughter of my father of four. My siblings on my mom side and I was raised by my grandmother and aunts. My mom left Dominica where things was hard at the time to go to Tortola (British Virgin Islands) and work to take better care of us. At the age of 5 which was in 1989 I was hit by a motorcycle and was pronounced dead. Before I got to the hospital and shortly after with no CPR I was breathing again (Thanks be to God). I managed to finish my education and live a normal life.

20-21 Days of January
It has been on my goal list of to-dos for the longest! Finally a new year! I am always excited for the new year because the cosmic calendar provides all sorts of inspiration that can maybe empower some of those inactive or left behind priorities. It is indeed time for a fresh start!
