“Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.” - Jack Canfield

Okay, so today, I am going to talk about the "F" word. I think it's important we address it because it really does affect us greatly. If we are not careful, any incorrect use of the "F" word may lead us to great devastation, failure, and unhappiness. I'm not talking about the expletive "F" word here though, although that actually isn't exactly beneficial and helpful either, I'm talking about the "F" word that our mindset determines, and that is "focus". Focus is actually linked to another "F" word, which is "feelings", and the reason being is that whatever we focus on tends to determine our feelings. When we focus on negative things, and negative aspects of our life, naturally we are going to feel negative, upset, sad, hurt, and unhappy. It's no different in reverse though. When we focus on positive things, and positive aspects of our life, naturally we are going to feel happy, grateful, joyous, excited, and motivated. Let's be honest, life throws a lot of crap our way, and it's not exactly easy to continually think positive, and focus all on lollipops and rainbows. The problem is, when we start to allow these situations and circumstances to consume us, and we consistently focus on everything that is going wrong, everything we don't have, and everything that isn't going our way, then we are also going to consistently feel unhappy, unsatisfied, miserable, and upset. We begin to start feeling more and more sorry for ourselves, and before long, our life seems as if it just one big disappointment. Our mindset becomes totally influenced by negativity, and due to this, our life follows suit.

If you scroll down to today's quotes, you will see a variety of different aspects of focus, because the truth is, there are so many things we can actually focus on that are of a positive nature, rather than all the negativity we are constantly drawn to. We can always focus on our failures, and all the actions that haven't worked for us, or we can choose to focus on all the successes we have achieved, no matter how small we may think they are, and the ultimate goal that we are intent on achieving. We can choose to focus on our doubts and fears, that we perhaps can't achieve what we desire, or we can choose to focus on the fact that we have the potential to achieve anything we set our mind to. We can choose to focus on being angry, frustrated, annoyed, and perhaps hurt by something that we can't control, or we can choose to accept it's out of our control, move on, and redirect our focus on to what we can control. We can choose to focus on all what we don't have in life, making us again feel annoyed, frustrated, unsatisfied, and angry, or we can choose to focus on all what we do have in life, that we perhaps take for granted, and be grateful and satisfied for such blessings and people. We can choose to focus on being frustrated and angry that we never ever get to achieve our goals, or we can choose to focus on the actions that are actually working towards our goals, bringing us such important growth and development along the journey. It's all a matter of choice, and that choice is all dependent on our mindset. We have the choice to be happy if we want to, but happiness isn't generated from negativity, that's a proven fact. Our happiness, emotions, mood, and feelings, are all determined by what we choose to focus on. Even in your darkest times, grant your mindset the right to focus on more positive things, something inspirational, something that drives you, excites you, and motivates you. If you can't generate some positive thoughts, then you're simply not thinking hard enough. There is so much to be grateful for, positive about, and excited about, but only you have the ability to discover what they are for yourself. It's definitely not an easy feat to always think positively, especially in times of adversity, but that comes from constantly training and strengthening your mind. Like anything, the more you practice it, the better you become. Here are 10 quotes to remind you of the importance in focusing on all things positive, to help bring you happiness, satisfaction, and success.
