I HATE IT HEEEEERE!!
1:04 PM MONDAY AFTERNOON “The price on the tag says $3.99! I have eyes and can read very well!” That is what a rude customer just said to me. “Ma’am, you’re reading the wrong tag. I promise you that $4.99 is the correct price. Maybe the item was in the wrong spot.” That is me responding to the rude customer in my very best customer service voice, all the while seething inside. A day in the life of Layla Robinson, age 20. Nothing but irritations, frustrations and disappointments. But at least it’s time for my break (actually 4 minutes past my allotted time) and I can call the manager away from his TV show to come cover me. Off to the “break room”. My life.

How To Conquer The Planet
To conquer the planet in peaceful ways is what I’m about. To own the day and run the night. Then to also be aspired, gifted and blessed with freedom is one of our many wonderful gifts as humans. Many of us use it poorly or we use it out of hatred. Which totally sucks because then problems arise but hear me out. My main issue with the way our planet is run is there is too many different ways of excelling with the public. Lots of poor decisions made by individuals that cause a disturbance in the lives of other individuals. Problems that do not need to be created or maintained. Problems that need to be mended rather than be ignored or they do not need to be maintained to the point where they just never become resolved. I find this as an extremely sticky situation due to how often myself or my fellow followers or supporters blamelessly try to attract better greatnesses. But instead of reaching that better greatness we get held onto a backwards complication which regards unholy attempts of drawing out more of this uneasy form of care from one another and then back to another.

Young Black Woman, Small country Town
First off let me explain, I’m not one of those black Women with long pretty curly hair and light skin. All my life I wished I looked as beautiful as that type of black woman. You know the ones that are easy on the eyes, and make white pepper want mixed kids? Instead, I am the other type, the kind you rarely take a second look at, the black girl with nappy hair. The type of nappy hair that you’re surprised it’s so long. I am the black Woman that is Considered loud, and aggressive instead of passionate, I am still a beautiful black Woman. I am many things, I wear many crowns. I am a mother before I am woman. And I say that because I too often put my womanly needs away, to take care of my children’s needs. Do you know how many opportunities I’ve missed to shave my legs? Or get my hair done, or just sip wine without my name being called for something minuscule? I am also a wife, (to an Nigerian which will matter later as the story progresses) I am a daughter, who still to this day craves her mother’s approval. Lastly but not least. Somewhere in there is a woman. A young 24 year old which is more of a reminder for myself then to inform you.

What Do You Want?
2020 wasn't exactly one of the most memorable years for many individuals worldwide, not at least in a good sense anyway. With the spread of COVID-19, we not only witnessed the disease causing millions of deaths and cases of illness, all around the globe, but the flow on effect also resulted in numerous job losses, economic devastation, travel restrictions, and a real strangulation on our lifestyle. A couple of lessons that 2020 hopefully taught many people though was firstly, we should never take people or the blessings we have in life for granted, and secondly, we should be really careful what we wish for in the future. With these couple of lessons, I am of course firstly referring to the fact that we should ensure we cherish every moment we have with our loved ones, because we just never know what disease, illness, or tragic event, may lay around the corner, and our time with these precious people in our life, can be taken away in the blink of an eye. What I'm mainly referring to though, is employment. So many people constantly whinge and complain about their job, how much they hate it, how much they dislike the company they work for, how they hate the work they do, how they dislike their boss, and how they wish they didn't have to work at all. That wish came true for many people last year, but in typical human fashion, rather than comprehend how blessed and grateful they were to have had a job at all, whilst they were working there, and understanding how they were actually taking the blessing of having a job for granted, they instead shifted their focus to whinging and complaining about the fact they all of a sudden were facing life without an income. It was the government's fault, or it was this, or it was that!

Spontaneous Euphoria
Carmen sighed hopelessly sitting at her kitchen table wrapped snuggly in her grandmother’s floral crochet blanket. The falling leaves brushed against her window as her windchimes danced in the crisp Fall wind. She was finishing a lackluster TV series finale to an already lackluster series. But, she and her younger brother got hooked on it a few years back. They used to watch it together every Friday until he went away to school. Now they would watch it when they could and text each other reaction memes and gifs. Unfortunately, she still wasn’t finding any inspiration even after watching the shows her friends recommended. She had been in a daze as of lately, maybe it was the somber cloudy days keeping her on pause. However, she had to find a way to resume as she had something important planned for this Thursday. She needed a solid story to write for a creative writing event at her former middle school to inspire students on the importance of finding their passion for writing. Yet, recently she was struggling to find hers. Everyone, she would usually call was busy with their problems. So she thought of an old friend, one who used to give her inspiration, David.

Reflection
“Never change, Danny.” I heard that a lot growing up, even to this day, and in many different ways. Some through humour, some through wisdom and some through over achieving for unappreciative managers. I think as humans some of us strive for change, to be better forms of ourselves, some to be as good as others and sometimes some of us just want to be something.

The Freedom to Forgive... especially YOURSELF
#ForgivenessFriday #Freedomtoforgive #FreedomFridays I have had only a handful of mentors/mentorships throughout the years, however, this post, in particular, is inspired by a former mentor of mine, and a friend, Adam who actually helped me get my start and entry, so to speak, into the fitness and wellness field, via personal mentorship (check out https://rawlifeyoga.com/). He made a post yesterday of his own, regarding living and acknowledging his own skills, talents while living his most open and honest life. It sparked in me a question in how I could live my own most honest, productive, passionate, and wealthy life, while learning to love myself unconditionally again (and others, just with the right boundaries this time LOL) and live to my best and highest potential.

No Shit
Journal Entry 211 Dear God, Universe, Fred, Source, The Force, Goddess, Creator, whatever you want to call yourself today; I've had it! I just can't any more! I'm tired. Tired of trying, tired of failing, tired of losing, tired of the shit. I know, they say it's easy. They say, all you have to do is put it out there and it is yours. Focus, stay in it. Show you, Dude Abides, I trust and have full faith in you, we are in it together, you've got my back, the world is infinite abundance ... believe it and you will see it, all things are possible! I'm calling bullshit on it all. I keep doing the thing; meditation, energy clearings, mindset work, tapping, mantras, hypnosis, journalling in this little black book...which by the way, I'm roasting this thing in the barbecue when this conversation is over...group therapy, reading the entirety of the mindset and self improvement section, rituals, tarot, etc., etc., etc. ad nauseam. (Your Holiness, can you hear? I'm going full Yule Brenner on your ass!) I've jumped into the deepest, darkest, scariest caverns of my psyche, I've purged mentally and physically in ways that, well, let's just call it not for polite conversation, I've met my inner child and let her rule over, come into submission, ride along side so we could take over the world together as one. I've done the dream work and let my imagination run free, I shut out all things which lower my frequencies, I've listened to the synchronized music to raise my vibrations. Done the cleanses, fasted, slept for days, crawled into a ball and cried for days on end, sat alone in silence under the trees, just letting it all come. AND still the shit keeps coming. The money is NOT flowing in. The debts pile up, I keep giving up what I truly want for what needs to be taken care of. AND I keep trusting, I keep believing. Still the customers aren't lined up around the corner, the reporters aren't beating down my door for interviews, the business hasn't blown up. AND I keep trusting, I keep believing. The relationships haven't been fixed, the counters are still covered with crumbs and the underwear is still laying in the middle of the bedroom with a beer can on the desk. The dent on the couch where the butt is planted day and night is deeper and dirtier every day. AND I keep trusting, I keep believing. AND I keep trusting, I keep believing. Today, that stupid camel finally got what was coming when yet another one of those women in that group posted how magically out of thin air $45,000 just showed up in the mail unannounced, for no earthly reason. Another one signed up 23 new clients at $5K a pop for the next 6 months.. That chick who's got all the things, she just got a free vacation to the place I've been "manifesting" for over a year. AND here I sit, in the middle of yet another relaunch, without the team I've been saying are on the way, without the resources and support I want to show up, without the funding I deserve or is abundant and always piling up. My savings dwindles and the debts grow ... and I keep believing, putting on the good face, trucking on forward, focusing and believing; YOU and I are in this shit together. Fred, you ain't in this shit with me. I'm in it, in it all alone and I've had it, not any more. All I wanted was enough money to put this last collection together, to not have to give up any more, but no, nothing, nada, zippo, zilch.. And then you break down all my appliances at once, I mean come the f*ck on, really? Well, thats it, I'm done. Get ready because Liar, Liar, you're pants about to be on fire. Thanks for proving exactly what I thought, my life is; SHIT. I'm OUT!

Who motivates you?
One of the most motivational people for me has been a man named Shaun T. For those that do not know who he is, he is a fitness trainer with a company called Beachbody. I believe he has over 12 programs and counting that he has. My first experience with him was a program called Insanity, which is very bit as insane as it sounds. Beachbody now has a streaming service where they stream all their programs basically. But when I first did it, this was when you would purchase the DVD's through things like infomercials. I wasn't in good shape and told myself that I would do this and get into great shape. Of course that is not how it really works as I now know. So when I first tried it, I thought what the heck is wrong with him, what crazy person does it and thinks this is a good idea. Of course, I did not finish it all. It is not a program for someone who isn't fully and totally dedicated to changing their lives. Of course now he does have shorter ones and different programs for different skill levels. But if you want to know what he is about, for me Insanity shows what he is all about. Yes he is hard, but he will push you past any point that you think that you have.

Miss Martha's Advice
The Universe has a funny way of taking your life plans and just absolutely ripping them apart, soaking them in gasoline, and then feeding them to the fire. You sit there in absolute disbelief and just watch your plans burn to delicate little embers. As you’re sitting there trying to figure whether to scream or cry or throw up, you continue to watch the embers. You watch them grow into this magnificent flame and you feel a calm settle over you. You let your eyes close and you take in the warmth of the fire, and the delicious, smoky scent. When you open your eyes, you are able to appreciate the fire in all of its glory and you realize the fire would not be there without the kindling of your plans.
