Life Coaching Week Three

Can you believe that you are here on article three of seven of this coaching yourself journey. You are truly doing a great job. Like I said previously if you havnt already completed week one and two then do and do those now. Week three will be waiting patiently for you when you are ready for it.

Week Three

Welcome to Week Three of your Life Coaching Course. You have done so well to get this far. The last two weeks have been hard. You have had to really think about your life and be completely honest with yourself. The good news is that this is amazing! You have taken some huge steps towards your future and I can see it looking brighter already. You are doing so well and I really could not be prouder of you.

This week we are going to start thinking about changing your negative mindset into a positive one. In fact, this week is all about the positivity. This week I really want to know what you want in life. I want the nitty gritty specifics.

Week Three Task 1:

So, let's get started with task one of the week. What you want? Sit down, take a deep breath and write down exactly what you want. For this task you can use your mission statement and your life evaluation chart to help you. There may also be other things that you haven't written down or thought about until this point too.

This task is where your goals are going to come from. So, take your time and really think about it. Go away and come back to it throughout the week if it helps. Take several days to mull this one over if you need to. Ultimately what you want is the most important thing you can figure out. It’s what you will build your life around.

~~~
Throughout this week you are working on what you want. But in order to make that happen we also need to start to build a more positive mindset. A way to help change your negative mind set is through daily affirmations which can be repeated whenever and wherever you are and as often as you desire throughout the day. Try some of the ones below or create your own.
"I can achieve my dreams and succeed in my future"
"I am positive and can achieve the goals I set myself"
"I release negative thoughts and will achieve my dreams"
Try to always use positive language when creating affirmations. By repeating them often your mind will come to believe what you are saying therefore changing the way your mind thinks. You have probably told yourself so many times that you can’t do things that it’s your instant thought. Now we want to reverse that. It won’t happen over night, it may not happen within a week. But by consistently telling yourself you can you will begin over time to rewire your negative thoughts into positive ones.
Week 3 – Task 2
'I CAN DO' This is a wonderful tool that allows you to evaluate and plan your goals. I want you to use this with your list of wants.
I = Investigate – Investigate why you made the decision to take a life coaching course.
C = Current – What is your current position when it comes to the things you want. Write them down individually.
A = Aims – Specify what your aims are for each thing you want.
N = Number – Consider the number of alternative ways to achieve your aims. Write them down. We don’t always achieve the first time around so it’s good to have backup plans.
D = Date – What dates are you setting to complete your goals. Consider this carefully depending on how big or small your goals are as you want to give yourself the time to achieve them.
O = Outcome – Your outcome achievement indicators: How will you know you have succeeded? Or, What would success look like with your desired outcome? Visualise this in your mind. When we visualise we start to see and feel what it would be like to have what we want. By doing this we boost ourselves to fight for what we want.
Time to reflect – It's Reflection time again. Take some time to reflect on your day or the days you have spent on these tasks. What have you learned? What did you achieve? What made you happy? By now you are getting used to reflecting on the tasks and your day to day. Reflection is a great tool. Remember to read your work through then put it down and go about your day/evening. If you find that different bits of it pop up or new and useful thoughts occur then please do add them to your notes. It all helps. Now sleep on it and get up fresh and ready for tomorrow. Don't forget to practice your affirmations.
