Disclaimer: This is based on my research. If you have questions, you should consult a healthcare professional. I am not a doctor.

There are many health benefits to Pure White Tea. This tea is delicate and unrated and has some similarities and differences to Green tea. It has its own flavor and nutrient profile. White tea comes with many health benefits that include high antioxidants, decreasing heart disease, helping with weight loss, anti-aging benefits, and improving teeth health.

History

Pure White Tea has existed since the 1700s and originated in China’s Fujian Province. It’s a fascinating tea that I thought would be worth attention to. So here we go; let’s sip our way into learning more about Pure White Tea. White tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant and is the most minimally processed tea. It contains polyphenols, catechins, and antioxidants, all associated with health benefits.

How did it get its name?

All tea comes from tea plant leaves. The difference with white tea is that it is harvested when the plant leaf has not opened. The White Tea name came about because the young buds of the plant leaves are covered with fine white hairs.

Other names for White tea are Silver Needle, White Peony, and Fujian New Craft.

Health Benefits

This tea is rich with many health benefits. Here are five benefits that I would like to highlight.

1. Antioxidants

White tea is very high in antioxidants, similar to Green Tea. These antioxidants can help fight chronic inflammation.

2. Heart Disease

Drinking White tea may help relax the blood vessels carrying blood to the heart. These vessels have a vital role in your circulatory system. The Polyphenols in White Tea can help calm these main roads during transport. If blood vessels are stressed and tight, it takes a toll on the veins.

White tea has also been found to help lower cholesterol levels.

3. Weight Loss

The compound EGCG, also known as Epigallocatechin Gallate, helps burn fat. A cup in the morning or after each meal can help boost your metabolism.

4. Teeth

White tea is a source of fluoride, which can help fight bad breath, strengthen teeth, fight bacteria, and reduce cavities.

5. Anti-Aging

The compounds in White tea can help protect your skin from aging and sun exposure. You can drink it or put the warm tea bags on your eyes. There are many different White Tea face creams and masks in the market.

Side Effects:

Like everything else in the world, drinking too much White Tea can cause stomach upset, anxiety, and insomnia.

Flavor Notes:

The flavor you will find as you drink White tea is earthy and fresh. There is a hint of herbs, fruit, and melon.

Personal Experience

I have been drinking White tea for over a year now. It is an excellent addition to my tea collection. White Tea is the bridge between herbal and Green tea if I want just a little more caffeine.

Steep Directions:

One recommendation when steeping your White tea is to leave the tea bag in the boiling water for 3-5 minutes. For a more robust flavor, leave it up for 15 minutes to receive maximum flavor and health benefits.

Any longer than 15 minutes, the tea tends to taste bitter.

If you cover your tea cup as it steeps, it brings out the flavors more so.

I add honey and lemon when I am not feeling well; otherwise, you drink this without milk and sugar.

So, if you are a Green tea drinker, you may want to give Pure white Tea a try. It might be a great addition to your tea collection.
