Happiness is a Choice

Not something you can find...

There is an aspect of life whereby all creatures unite. It is often said to be the key to success in every way and without it we feel like something is missing. It is something we all strive for and want even though we sacrifice it way too often, and way too easily. It is absolutely free of charge and actually, it is our birthright.

It’s happiness.

I truly believe we are all born happy individuals. Unfortunately through our conditioning, slowly but surely, that pure happiness gets tarnished and sometimes lost. Through our experiences and adversities we lose our connection to ourselves and in turn our happiness dwindles. This seems to affect almost everyone at some point in their lives. In some rare cases people coming from very happy homes tend to repeat what they know continuing to live a life of happiness. Unfortunately they are among the minority. What strikes me the most is the amount of negative people out there.

Did this ever happen to you?

You walk into a store and witness people on line making small talk which usually starts with a complaint about the weather or some other useless chatter. The tone is usually negative. It seems as though it has become a comfortable way for people to relate to one another. The person who walks into a store and has something positive to say practically gets a look of astonishment or at least one of confusion. The problem is that there are a lot of negative and miserable people out there. These people are lacking the knowledge that have all the resources they need to be happy, they simply are just not aware of it.

The good news is…

Positivity, health & wellness are on the rise. People are beginning to realize that taking care of themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually are all the things that lead to a happier life. The message is definitely out there and hopefully will penetrate the minds of the masses making way for a fresh new perspective for the generations to come.

If you are 30 years old and up you are apart of a generation of pioneers who have lived through the greatest technological advancement to date. Things have now become available that were never imagined by the generations before us. This large gap in knowledge created a sense of disconnect with our predecessors. Earlier generations were able to relate to one another based on their experiences and similar challenging times such as wars, migration and the great depression. Life now compared to our parents and grandparents is very different. This should make it easier to understand why the older generations seems to resort to a negativity and lives that may not be filled with happiness. Fortunately within the last decade people of all ages have become savvy to the workings of the web and other social media outlets which has made people of older generations able to educate themselves in various ways using the internet causing them to feel an overall sense of connectedness, control and happiness.

Which is where we are now… the Happiness Revolution. Where people are beginning to take responsibility for their own happiness, instead of accepting anything less. In one moment you can decide to begin to live your life on a new path. Despite your current situation whatever it is, you have the choice to focus on whatever is working for you and if there is nothing, then you have to make some changes immediately because the first step on any path is finding your resources. Your resources could be something or someone that can connect you to an opportunity, however your most valuable resources of all are just a few simple things that you have at your disposable at this very moment if you choose to use them.

A genuine and endearing personality

One that exemplifies your hopes and dreams. Did you ever meet someone that just had this electric personality. One that connected with everyone instantly and everyone loved to be around. This personality type is often very successful and very happy. We all have this ability. It is up to us to clear the connection to our self and let it shine!

A make it happen attitude

An eloquent way to articulate what you want and how you think you can make it happen is key to attracting the right people at the right time. An overall positive vibe allows you to be your best and receive all that this world has in store for you, and fast!

The bottom line is that being happy is a feeling, a lifestyle, a mindset.

It is something that is present no matter what the circumstances around you are dictating. Your life could be in complete disarray yet you have your happiness so your attitude and perception will allow you to prevail whatever obstacles have come your way. True happiness goes beyond all desires and material objects. It is a richness that sustains you making your life full and the best part is it makes you whole. Once your whole, you can achieve anything. You can be successful in a relationship, a job, any endeavor you set your mind to.

If you find yourself saying, "I'll be happy when..." - then something has taken you away from your happiness in the present moment which has become your present state. On the bright side, once it is achieved you will never let it go again. Happiness is a rich, fulfilling experience that can be a strong foundation for a healthier life in every way and the best part is it can affect everyone you encounter.
