Yoga Creates A Balance Between The Body, Mind And Soul.
Yoga is an ancient science that aims to create a balance between the body, mind and soul, thereby curing physical mental and spiritual disorders that are caused by this imbalance. In common language, yoga means union; its a union of the individual consciousness with the super-consciousness. To be exact, yoga aims at reminding the individual of this union that already exists and has merely been forgotten. To put it simply, yoga is experiencing and knowing what already exists, not inventing anything new.
My yoga journey.. so far.
My first encounter with yoga happened almost fifteen years ago. I was a freshman in high school and went up to my room, turned on the tv, and stumbled upon the fitness network. A show had just started and it began with these women doing poses with this strange dark watery scenery and these very mystical sounds in the background. I had no idea what I was watching. But I kept watching and felt almost hypnotized by their movement. I started watching this show daily for the remainder of my high school years and kept a very quiet personal practice. I was an odd duck in high school, I was what some people would refer to as an “emo” kid, and practicing yoga alone in my room helped me feel connected to something more powerful. I began to dig deeper into the philosophy side of things and tried my best to embody my practice mentally and physically. As a teenager, this was very difficult but I always tried my best.

It is not only about bettering your physical health, but yoga retreats can also help you better your mental health, relax, and calm your inner demons. With deep relaxation, you enter the world again with better enthusiasm and gist for life.
“Tug on anything at all and you’ll find it connected to everything else in the universe.” John Muir Every night we charge our cell phones, but how do we recharge the mind? The secret is our breath. “Prana” refers to the universal life force and “ayama” means to regulate, stretch, extend, or lengthen. So pranayama is the extension and expansion of all our vital energy. Pranayamas are yogic breathing exercises that have the ability to improve our health, and increase mental clarity and energy.
“At its heart, hatha yoga is more than just flexibility or strength in postures; it is the management of prana, the vital life force that animates all levels of being. Prana enables the body to move and the mind to think. It is the intelligence that coordinates our senses, and the perceptible manifestation of our higher selves. By becoming more attentive to prana—and enhancing and directing its flow through the practices of hatha yoga—we can invigorate the body and mind, develop an expanded inner awareness, and open the door to higher states of consciousness.” (Sandra Anderson)

It is the inner guru appearing as nada, bindu and kala. One who is devoted to the inner guru, the nada, the inner music, obtains the highest bliss.”
