How to start yoga?

You can practice yoga in the comfort of your home. You will need a yoga mat, and comfortable, flexible clothes. Find a quiet place in your house to do yoga without interruption during your exercise, or you can enjoy the outdoors.

Follow along with YouTube video, or Yoga class in a studio led by an instructor. When I started yoga, I first went to a studio to learn the basics, and the position of the body. Now I used the yoga channel on YouTube "Yoga with Adriene," and I love the convenience of practicing when I desire. I do not have to drive, and stress finding a parking spot, and if I wish I can do it in my pyjamas.

Learn Yogic breathing, this is the basic idea:

Inhale deeply into your abdomen. As you breathe in, feel the breath filling your abdomen including your belly and up through your ribcage. Count to four as you breathe in to help you make the breath slow and deep. Imagine that your stomach is a balloon filling up with air as you inhale.

What are the benefits of Yogic breathing? How to practice Yogic breathing?

The yogic breathing is the base for concentration and mindfulness, as well as having physical and emotional benefits of its own.

Hold your breath for a few seconds. Take a few seconds to notice how your body feels after taking in the breath. Note any areas of your body that feel tense and try to relax them as you hold the breath.

Exhale out slowly through your mouth. When you feel ready, slowly exhale the breath. Use your abdomen to push the breath out completely. Count down from four as you breathe out.

Repeat this process until you feel relaxed.

Yogic breathing has the potential to transform one's state of mind. It can reduce anxiety and stress, cure insomnia, ease pain, and increase concentration. On a spiritual level, it can help people to connect with their inner calm and peace, helping to still the mind, and allowing them to access greater wisdom and clarity.
