Author's preface: Those who are not familiar with my writings may not know that I have something of an obsession with argan oil. For some reason I find the Moroccan hair and beauty oil to be a source of endless comedic inspiration. So much so that I have published close to twenty stories now over the past three years which use argan oil as the main humorous element and plot point. For examples see here here here here here and here None of my writings are very popular, but my argan oil works rank among my least viewed or commented upon. It appears others do not necessarily find argan oil as hilarious as I do. That's OK and to be expected. I mean seriously, argan oil, wtf? How dumb of a thing is that to find funny? Great question, and yet for reasons I cannot explain, I do. In fact I am smiling and laughing to myself as I write these very words. Sometimes we write for others, and sometimes we write for ourselves. I rest content in the knowledge that someday the world will wake up to the truth. They will all realize what I have known for so long. Argan oil is just so damn funny! lol!

A frizzy haired Moroccan tree goat has been discovered by scientists studying the creatures in the far southwest of the country near the city of Tamri baffling scientists from many disciplines including both biologists and chemists. Zoologist and acknowledged world leading expert in the biology of the Moroccan tree goat Dr. Jaouad Benaddi said the following about the find in a prepared statement. "Ladies and gentlemen I have been studying the tree goats of Morroca for almost thirty years. Until today it was believed that a frizzy haired Morrocan tree goat could not possibly exist. The diet of the goat consists almost exclusively of the fruit of the argan tree and thus is overwhelmingly rich in argan oil which is produced from the seeds of the fruit. The fruit is partially digested in the stomach of the goat, expelled when the goats defecate, collected from the fecal matter, then processed into the oil which as we all know is legendary for its beneficial effects to both hair and skin. It is second to none in terms of its abilit to calm and reduce frizz while not leaving any greasy residue. This stands in great contrast to argan oil wannabes like coconut and jojoba oil and a host of other second rate hair and skin oils. Because the goats consume so much argan oil their hair is known to be among the softest, finest, least frizzy, and least greasy in the animal kingdom. Given the known properties of argan oil, and the diet of the tree goat a frizzy haired Moroccan tree goat should not exist, and yet today's find proves without a doubt that it does. The full genetic sequence of the animal was found to be 99.9999% similar with all other Moroccan tree goats. The few SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) we did find were quickly ruled out as possible explanations. This frizzy haired goat is genetically no different than every other healthy Moroccon tree goat. What this means for science I cannot say, but surely many of our most cherished and well accepted theories in biology and chemistry may need to be rethought in the wake of this discovery. ", with that Dr. Benaddi bowed his head slightly and stepped back from the podium, whereupon Moroccan chemist Anwar Berradi moved into his place. Dr. Berradi is best know for his spearheading of the controversial push to rename the eighteenth element of the periodic table, Argon, to Argan in Morrocon textbooks. That move was denounced by Senior members of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and widely ridiculed by chemists across the globe. Dr. Berradi said the following "It is not possible, cannot be possible, for a Moroccan tree goat to have frizzy hair. Just as it is not possible for any human or animal that uses argan oil as a hair care product to have frizzy hair, and yet it seems in the face of all our knowledge to the contrary, it can. We have only begun to hypothesize possible explanations and, unfortunately, it is still too early for me to report on progress testing any of them. I can say it looks like science is in for a major wake up call when it comes to some of our most bedrock assumptions. Once again Moroccan argan oil has proven to be a source of endless mystery in addition to a source of endlessly smooth, frizz free, non greasy hair for men and women the world over." With that Dr. Berradi stepped off the podium into a waiting limosine and drove away.
