The letters LGBTQ are just another way of saying that Love is Love.
Who is Really in Control?
Who is really in control? Some might say, 'the rich' are in control. Some might say governments. Some might say the public. Others might say the government is an institution that embodies the will of the public, with access to an exorbitant amount of funds (sometimes even infinite spending). Well, let's explore this concept a bit further to see who is truly in control, and regardless of reality, how you can not only attain power, but maintain all power you have currently, and ever will have.

Noel paced the airport lobby halfway in a bubble of calm and a pool of giddy excitement. She looked at the arrivals section with the eyes of a hawk. She’d waited for this moment for what felt like 500 years and 3 minutes all at the same time. Within seconds, she was no longer waiting and was running. Running straight into the arms that had always held her like no one else could. She grabbed Maria carefully and sturdily as she jumped up on her. Noel nuzzled into her girlfriend’s neck. She never wanted to let go of this feeling. They held each other so tight that it felt like time stopped and folded in on itself because their gravitational pull to each other was stronger than that of the sun and the moon to the Earth.
Trans-Right Affect Women’s Rights
You are at your daughter’s high school track event, watching all the young female athletes prepare to race. Each contender lines up at the starting line. Seconds later, the sound of the gun rings in the air and the runners fly off from their starting position. You sit in anticipation as you watch your daughter start to gain on the runners in the inner lane. As they round the track, your daughter takes the lead and it’s a 200 meter sprint to the finish line. Less than quarter of a minute later, your daughter flash across the finish line in a victorious conclusion. You stand from your seat cheering at her win ready to congratulate her later that evening.

My parents both used this phrase often as I was growing up, “There but for the grace of God go I.” It’s a bit awkward as sentences go, at least for me. But I think the sentiment was meant more toward empathy than pity. It speaks to the idea that we are all human, and if the circumstances of my own life had been just a bit different, I could find myself homeless, or addicted, or learning to accommodate physical or emotional challenges that I don’t directly experience. It was applicable to anyone going through stuff I am not. It could just as easily say, “remember to be kind, because you do not live anyone else’s story.”

Who do you think you are? Stepping into a life so pure, changing perspective and expecting more. We were just friends who help each other grow, and now you live in my head wanting me to love you forever more—breaking me down from light to shadow, making me hate to love and the things that follow. Hurting in doses like a disease in transit, loving someone else now feels like roaches on the carpet.
When One Love Isn't Enough (1)
The last couple of days have been emotional. My doorbell rang and when I opened my door, an old familiar face turned around, “I heard a congratulations….WTF happened to your face?”

“Change is gonna come” proclaims the song that is my morning alarm, rousing me from sleep. I roll over and groan at the bright sun streaming through the window as I hit ‘Dismiss’ and the phone goes silent. I reply to the message from my sister before I stand and pull on the clean uniform hung ready on the bedroom door. Black pants, green shirt, brown jacket, white shoes with green laces. As I walk to my kitchen my cat circles my legs and I tell her “Breakfast time!” I fetch my tea and porridge, and feed Artemis, and walk to my little balcony to eat and watch the morning customers of the bakery. Mary gets a blueberry muffin and a black coffee, then opens her florist shop next door. It’s Monday, so Jason gets one loaf of white bread and two custard tarts, then heads back towards home. The baker flirts with the English teacher by giving him a sausage roll for half price. The teacher doesn’t notice, that’s his usual price. The baker’s daughter eats a fresh apple Danish while he’s distracted. I finish my porridge as my cat comes through the cat-flap to join me, sitting in her favourite patch of sun. I finish my tea and walk to work. “Hey John!” greets my co-worker. “How’s Anna enjoying New York?” I tell him my sister likes it the same as she did when he asked yesterday and pick up my first tour group. I finish work and head home, another Monday the same as the rest. I sigh and wonder when the sound of my morning alarm will no longer feel mocking.

Jacinda Ardern, who is currently the Prime Minister, and The Labour Party would like to enforce a new law called Hate Speech. Hate Speech is a law when you cannot judge people about their gender, who they married, their skin colour and more. In the next couple of paragraphs I will talk about opinions, the impact it has had or will have on people's lives and gender. I have decided to do my topic on this because there has been a lot of debating on whether it is good or bad. I am going to try and convince you and I whether it is good or bad.
I'm Trans, Never What You'll Say
"Mommy, I was born in the wrong body! Why don't I have boy parts?" Some transgender men, like myself, realize they are trans during their childhood years. The realization itself is a euphoric revelation one can discover of their own self but because today's society runs solely upon stereotypical beliefs for "male and female", growing up as a transgender child can be mentally exhausting. It literally takes all of your willpower to be yourself in today's world while enduring the harsh opinions of others when they have no control over nothing but their own bodies.
The Journey to My Sexuality
Welcoming myself into this space and conversation is key. I'm a very open person so a lot of what I say makes people uncomfy, and this might if you're not accepting of...

Pride Month is a month dedicated to uplifting LGBTQ+ voices, celebrating LGBTQ+ culture, and the support of LGBTQ+ rights. Throughout June, there have traditionally been parades, protests, drag performances, live theater, and memorials and celebrations of life for community members who lost their lives to HIV/AIDS or hate crimes. It is part political activism, part celebration of all the LGBTQ+ community has achieved over the years.
