friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
A friendship like the garden
Our friendship, like the garden, goes through phases. Some moments we are the seeds, dormant, existing in the dark together. Sometimes one of us is sprouting, while the other is not. Our friendship is often the wild bloom in July when everything is green and shining. Our friendship is change. Everyday in the garden is exciting, as some new development has occurred. I don’t judge the newness. I don’t judge the leaves that have been shed, or the new roots. And neither do you.

My Best Friend Mr. Sidney Darcy
Of all the moments I can deem meaningful, there are so few that compare to befriending Mr Sidney Darcy. We were born two years and one month apart, and for most of our lives (to his stylish disdain) we have looked like twins, my mother confusing our mop-top haircuts and lanky statures. Although I'm unsure if that was her lack of attentiveness, or us sharing similar looks, regardless it was never a circumstance for shame. In fact, I indulged in the idea of sharing a look. In retrospect, I already had two older brothers, the primary of which my mother named Matthew, passing away just hours after birth. The other, Ross, the first living heir to my father's surname, and it is he we do not speak about, being a traitor to the bonds of blood. And even with these facts being so, Sidney Darcy is the brother I consider to be more than family, he is my souls home.

OUR AMAZING GREATEST FRIEND!
One day my son-in-law met our best friend at work. He did not know it then but he met an Angel! I say that because my son-in-law was laid off work after he became friends with her. He and my daughter was low on food, I helped them out but it could not compare to our best friend. When my daughter went to visit her they gave my daughter enough food for a month. When I was told about it I thought to my self what wonderful people they had for a friend! My daughter visited her often and again they would feed my daughter and her family for another month! Then one day I met her!

To my person/bestie
To my best friend (you know who you are), Yes you're my best friend. No I don't know why or how that happened. No there's no upgrades or refunds, you're stuck with me. You could do worse. Maybe you could do better, but do you really want to try? Yes, it's really been 4 years since we met.

Open Letter To My Bestie
Dear Bestie, I am so thankful that you came into my life. Before I met you, I didn't think that good people still existed in this world. I've been mistreated and stabbed in the back by so many so called friends, I lost count. You showed me that I shouldn't judge someone before I get to know them. I still remember the first day we met.

Best Friends: Twenty Years and Counting
To Janly, It’s hard to believe we have been best friends for over twenty years now. Looking back, it’s hard to remember when we became us. When I met you, I was just your brother’s girlfriend. My earliest memory of you consists of you locking me out of your house. And the time I bought you a toy stable for your birthday, which you proceeded to quickly destroy. Neither one of us imagined at the time how close we would one day become.

Two Drag Queens one Wig
During Quarantine I was laid off, and didn’t know what to do, couldn’t see my family, who were miles away, and was too scared to do anything else, but go to my local corner store and Back. Load myself up with hand sanitizer. And pray. I’ve been a hair stylist for Ten years and my best friend has always been in the Photography business, but are main focus is performing together as female illusionists in Buffalo, NY. No matter what bar, or venue, we always wanted to be in the same show together, if we don’t perform together, we agree it’s just Boring!!!

Remember When...
Remember when we first met? In high school; in the cafeteria. We were sophomores, but it was my first year at a new school--your school. I remember feeling so scared and anxious. It was already hard enough for me to make new friends. I never thought I'd meet someone who cares about me; someone who understands and listens to me; someone who fully accepts me for who I am. My best friend.
