Goodnight Ms. Cute...
It had been a manic Monday, a trashy Tuesday, a weird Wednesday, and a terrible Thursday. When Friday came, I decided to make sure to turn the tide. I convinced my Sista-friends to come with me to a Jazz happy hour at a local establishment. This Friday evening turned out to be the perfect way to end the week. The music was amazing, as were the drink specials and food. During a laughing fit, I realized I should use the ladies' room, so I excused myself and sauntered over to the restroom.

The Wine Bar
Feeding quarters into the parking meter, Shawn took a moment to study her face. Her long brown hair was pulled back accentuating her high cheekbones and slender neck. Her green eyes were electric in the street light. After studying the three-story building across the street, she turned to look at Shawn, catching him analyzing her features. He quickly walked around the car to cover his embarrassment. A few drops of rain began to materialize. He gently touched her lower back, guiding her across the street and under the navy awning. His first impression of Avalon was astounding. Even her name added to her beauty.

Three Blind Dates and a Wedding
I was so very sick of dating. Every silver lining had a dark cloud within, casting shadows across the timeline of my life. I tried so many times, even getting married once, only to have him cheat on me repeatedly. I ditched him, alone, in New York City, on his birthday. Looking back on that day, I feel sadness but a fantastic sense of karmic intervention. Then guilt sets in for feeling that last part.

Brandy & Merlot
The constant piercing buzz sounded like a roar coming from the depths of the Earth, as I dived down and swooped low to grab a thick black snake from the murky waters. The deafening sound startled me and grabbed my attention causing me to jolt my head up to the sky to search for the source of the cacophony, only to see a newly-orange sky and things around me disappearing. With each shriek, the things around me were transforming into new objects. The cars turned to toys, the skyscrapers turned to Lego's, and the paved streets became liquid, submerging every human and object that rested upon it.

Freckles
The ruby red liquid seeped slowly into the crisp white linen tablecloth. Eloise couldn’t tear her vision away from the horror of having knocked over the expensive wine. To her it was expensive. Anything over six dollars was pricey. She so desperately wanted to portray herself as a sophisticated thirtysomething and had agreed to a Merlot like she drank a bottle each week and knew the difference between a red or a rosé other than their color. Truth was, she was a cup of strong tea, dunk a digestive in it, kind of girl.
