All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
Dating Mr. Right
You would think by now that I would be over the “first date jitters”. After all, this was like the 30th first date that I have been on this year, and it is only March. I know what you’re thinking, “Surely you can’t be serious? Thirty first dates in just three months?!?” I assure you that I am entirely serious, and the sad part is, that old cliché is true, it is not them, it is me.

The Unforgettable Date
Ana was tired, she was ready to find the one, but every date she went on was the same, started with dinner, then a movie, or occasionally bowling, and then they expected to stay the night, and when she refused, the search was on for the next guy. She always hoped they'd be understanding that she didn't want that boundary crossed yet, but alas she was always disappointed when that wasn't the case.

Merlot Magic
Merlot. It all started with a single glass of merlot. It was the most magical nigh t of m y life... I sat, semi-slouched forward at the small, rounded table made of antiqued wood. I noticed the tiny elements of brass on the hinges that sparkled as I tilted my head from side to side, enjoying the game of catching its light. I swirled my glass in my hand just enough to watch the deep-colored wine move cylindrically, stopping before it could make me feel dizzy. I heard the door begin to open, and I looked in expectation across the cafe. It was my favorite little place: quiet atmosphere and the best lasagna I'd tasted outside of Italy. I looked down briefly as I ran my hands through my hair and straightened out the shoulders of my blouse, reminding myself that surely I looked at least presentable.

Merle
Sebine I felt ready, as I sat kind of laughing at myself but also seriously thinking about what scares me most. My bottle of Markham Vineyards Merlot, soothes my wet throat with her dryness. She is a wine that thinks highly of herself, I thought, chuckling a bit. My cigarette burned as I thought to myself again, about blackbirds this time. Not a new subject for me, they peak my interest. The male and female blackbird are likely to both attack if threatened by a presence. I live in a world where that means the male is to be praised. He’s been trained and he listens, a lonely female can be a very troublesome thing. I take a sip of my wine, granted, like I deserved it. I had taken this sip down with poise. Me being so clever and all, I scroll down my feed.

The Hunt For Love
"Ok teams here is tonight's list," Anna said while handing out everyone a piece of paper. Once a month our friends get together for a scavenger hunt. It is a fun way to have a date night. My friend Anna came up with this date night as an ice breaker for first dates, or a reason for our married friends to get out of the house. Tonight I was a little nervous because it was the first date with a guy I met off a dating app. We have been talking for a few weeks now and tonight was our official meet face to face.

Lavender & Merlot
There was a definite chill in the fall evening as Abigail made her way to the small Italian restaurant called La Pasta. The rustic, multi-colored leaves whispered, blowing and scattering about as her black heels clicked methodically with each step she took on the narrow sidewalk. Reaching up, she attempted to push back the loose wisps of russet colored hair that flew about her face, but it was a futile endeavor. Her hair, thick and lustrous, had a mind all its own, and tonight, one thing was certain: there was no escaping the force of the breeze that lent it a new strength against any of her efforts to tame it. She mused to herself that she would likely look a mess once she arrived at her destination, but alas, it was what it was. She should have taken that taxi after she had agreed to come on the first date only if she was allowed to arrive and depart of her own accord.

Diary of a Blind Date with a Wine Snob
Monday I just got a call from my friend Karen asking me if I was interested in meeting her neighbor, Dave. Well, she actually didn’t ‘ask’ me – she ‘told’ me I was going to meet him. Karen knows that since the divorce I have been very hesitate to get back into the dating scene. Things have changed so much since I was single. On a typical Saturday night I usually fall back to cozying up with my comforter and a good book. But not this Saturday night. Per Karen’s firm instructions, I will be meeting Dave at the corner restaurant, Saturday evening, at 8 p.m. sharp. Then she casually mentioned, that I should we warned. He is a wine snob.

Baskets on the Bay
Callie wasn’t sure what to expect but thought why not. It was a new website her friends had told her about and most had already tried it. Lately, all of her dates were more like lessons in what not to do than enjoyable encounters with a future.

First Impressions
Have you ever been on a first date with someone and ran out of things to say? Luckily, he chose a karaoke bar, so the horrible singing is a useful distraction, but I am wracking my brain trying to come up with something else to talk about. We have nothing in common. He’s outdoorsy, and I like staying in. He’s a wine drinker, and I prefer beer. He likes sushi, and I hate seafood (even if it’s cooked).
