dating
All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
From Across the Room
Lizzie made her way along the path that ran on the outskirts of the wooded area just along the pond. The early morning’s mist still hung above the water’s edge. It was eerily quiet except for the chirping of birds that flitted through the tree branches above her. Her Golden Retriever, Maggie, was at her side, a fierce protector at all times. She absorbed the energy that nature’s beautiful setting provided. It was moments like these that made her confident that moving to the secluded coastal town was the best decision she’d ever made. Life as a writer had never had more inspiration than it did right now. She lived and breathed every creative endeavor with a fervor previously unknown. At twenty-nine years of age, it had been worth it to begin anew and leave everything behind.

Diary of a Blind Date with a Wine Snob
Diary of a Blind Date with a Wine Snob Monday I just got a call from my friend Karen asking me if I was interested in meeting her neighbor, Dave. Well, she actually didn’t ‘ask’ me – she ‘told’ me I was going to meet him. Karen knows that since the divorce I have been very hesitate to get back in the dating scene. Things have changed so much since I was single. On a typical Saturday night I usually fall back to cozying up with my comforter and a good book. But not this Saturday night. Per Karen’s firm instructions, I will be meeting Dave at the corner restaurant, Saturday evening, at 8 p.m. sharp. Then she casually mentioned, that I should we warned. He is a wine snob.

Merlot
Merlot What's a woman to do when she’s been alone for so long? My name is Mia. I have spent the last three years learning how to be alone. A widow at 38 years old, I never in my life imagined my husband being gone so soon. It wasn't the greatest of marriages we fought more than we made love but it was my marriage and when he passed away I found myself unsure how or when to proceed with starting a new relationship. Or if I even wanted to.

The Devil Sipped Merlot
Like Merlot, one of her favorite wines, Julianne, a fine artist known for her soft, sensual textures and approachable style however, love eluded her and dating was a minefield so she trusted a friend's match making skills to help her start fresh. She was often reluctant to go on dates because of pressure from her Boomer parents to get married and settle down. As if that was a woman's only purpose in life. She was a free spirited soul who needed to explore her feelings and shed her doubts as to what she wanted. Being accommodating to others usually landed her on the side of Love's proverbial friend zone road heartbreak ridge all throughout her teens and twenties but now in her thirties, she decided she wasn't going to be a doormat and stand firm in her beliefs that it takes two to make a thing go right rather than wrong and she wasn't going to take the brunt of any emotional pain or guilt.

Beginning Together
She is so out of my league, I think, scrolling through her Bumble profile for the third time since we matched. I'm a novice dating app user - usually I open it up and swipe left or right when I'm bored, only making a handful of matches that never go anywhere. But this one? This one was like the Dating App God and Goddess were both smiling down on me, giving me exactly what I've been looking for in a relationship.
