The Pietà
Many years ago, my then husband and I were fortunate to do a lot of traveling. It was BC time - before children. We started to collect an item from each place we visited that when you looked at the item, you knew exactly where we had been. Like a little Queen’s Guard doll from England and a flamingo dancer figurine from Spain. For our visit to Rome, there was no doubt about it. I needed a statue of the pietà. Not just any pietà, but THE Pietà by Michelangelo. And that is exactly what I got. It took center place in the cabinet where we kept the collection.

Dearest Doris
Dearest Doris, I can’t believe it has been over four years since you left this world. I didn’t have a lot of friends, and even fewer close friends. You were the closest. I never had a sister, but if I did, I could only hope she would have been someone like you.

Diary of a Blind Date with a Wine Snob
Diary of a Blind Date with a Wine Snob Monday I just got a call from my friend Karen asking me if I was interested in meeting her neighbor, Dave. Well, she actually didn’t ‘ask’ me – she ‘told’ me I was going to meet him. Karen knows that since the divorce I have been very hesitate to get back in the dating scene. Things have changed so much since I was single. On a typical Saturday night I usually fall back to cozying up with my comforter and a good book. But not this Saturday night. Per Karen’s firm instructions, I will be meeting Dave at the corner restaurant, Saturday evening, at 8 p.m. sharp. Then she casually mentioned, that I should we warned. He is a wine snob.
