An Adoption Meant to Be
After nineteen years of being told there would never be a cat in our household - either because of concerns of my dad's allergy to cat hair, or how our dog would respond to a much smaller furry friend than they were used to - I had decided it would probably just be easier to wait till I moved out to adopt myself a cat.

Beginning Together
She is so out of my league, I think, scrolling through her Bumble profile for the third time since we matched. I'm a novice dating app user - usually I open it up and swipe left or right when I'm bored, only making a handful of matches that never go anywhere. But this one? Curiosity for Systems of the Human Body
Those of us interested in the medical field aren't the only types of people who enjoy knowing a variety of medical facts. Personally, my intrigue with the human body began with a passion for the Saw films. As a lover of horror, you can often find reference to the human body in a variety of sub-genres that aren't restricted to so-called "torture porn". Perhaps I'm the only one who enjoys making these connections, but they are my two biggest passions. For this informal essay (really an informative stream of consciousness) I will point out a few facts I find fun, revolving around systems of the body I enjoy learning about the most.

For the longest time Jonni stared at the paperwork in her hands, thumbs slowly gliding back and forth over the soft paper, absentmindedly wondering how much pressure she would have to apply to smudge the ink. She didn't want to stare at the house, instead, despite being keenly aware her new neighbors were staring at her through their curtains.
