Freckles
The ruby red liquid seeped slowly into the crisp white linen tablecloth. Eloise couldn’t tear her vision away from the horror of having knocked over the expensive wine. To her it was expensive. Anything over six dollars was pricey. She so desperately wanted to portray herself as a sophisticated thirtysomething and had agreed to a Merlot like she drank a bottle each week and knew the difference between a red or a rosé other than their color. Truth was, she was a cup of strong tea, dunk a digestive in it, kind of girl.

To Watch or Not To Watch
I’m always wondering what to look at next. Whilst I enjoy watching movies, I’m more of a TV series person. Remote schooling, general housework, cooking dinner and writing means I have enough energy to watch a 25 to 43min television show otherwise the episode becomes part of my dreams. I see myself as a hummingbird when it comes to watching a program. I’ll happily flit from one show to another, discovering new characters or revisiting old ones. I won’t necessarily watch one because it’s popular – you know Game of Thrones or Bridgerton - in fact I tend to shy away from them until the hype dies down. Not one for always conforming I guess.

The Haak Society
“Does it need to be so dark in here?” “We need to be serious.” “And having dim lighting means being serious?” questioned Julie Lions. She adjusted her peach cardigan pulling the open halves taut over her large bosom. Just as she was about to address Marjory Crump, President of the Haak Society, the doorbell sounded. Dull thuds crossed above them ebbing towards the right-hand corner of the basement room.
