I never tasted Merlot
The flight to Denver was almost unbearable. Previously, I had somehow managed to walk 18 holes alone, despite skipping the last 4, while working up a considerable sweat for a balmy March morning in North Carolina, panting heavily and nervous about potentially missing my Raleigh connection because I just HAD to stop and play that short par 3 on 16, guzzled down an unhealthy amount of Chick Fila French fries in the back seat of my uncle’s F-250 and panic bought $500 worth of GameStop stock only to watch it plummet immediately upon purchase, all in the name good old fashioned American greed, and all this just moments before I was to chuck my out of shape and inexperienced frame over a 13,000 foot snowy mountain the ski world knows simply as “Breckinridge.”

I Hope He Likes Me
Disappointment. The word "disappointment" came into Aria's mind. She could not pull off her black dress anymore, she used to fit into it perfectly, but with her new weight loss, she looked like she was drowning in it. Aria pulled her dress over her head and tossed it on the wooden floor. She peered from her room down the hall to her sister's closed room door. She bit her lip. Aria could already hear her sister asking why she would take her pink dress, but it was the only thing that would look good on her new reinvented body. Aria went for it, she stepped into her sister's walk-in closet. She found the pink dress and she tugged it off the hanger and she went back to her own room with the dress in hand. Aria put it on and indeed it looked perfect. Finally, she could on her make-up. She peered at the reflection in the mirror, her green eyes stared back at her, she carefully applied each layer of make-up. When she stepped back into the frame of the mirror she was satisfied. Her dark make-up made her eyes pop out, her pink lipstick did not clash with the dress.

Sunrise to Sunset
She stood on the side of I-85 at 7am, with her hair blowing all around her face in the wind, as the cars sped by her. Her phone dead, her radiator blown, smoke filling the air, she began walking. Not knowing where she should go from here, she started heading towards the next exit, praying that the rain would hold out long enough to get her inside somewhere.

A Glass for our Second Date
A Glass for our Second Date (better with age) By: The ADHD Accountant – Krid It has been many years since my first date. I’ve had many since. Some bad, some good, even one that was great. I have oft wondered about the key to a good date as the children around me grow and ask and experience their own. We all agree; you both should have a good time.

Love at First Glass
It was every woman's true nightmare of firsts: their first date. Eek. Mike Heisenberg was 5 foot 10 inches of pure, prime, sexy man. That short black, wavy hair? Those deep, brown eyes? They were the icing on the cake! But, I'm 20 years old and have never went on a real date with a man. Dinner at the local café in town, and a concert in the park. What could go wrong? I was so unprepared. What do I say to him? What do I wear? I probably shouldn't show too much cleavage, I want to be modest, but I also want to be gorgeous. Fuck. Should I put on makeup? And what shoes should complete my outfit? These were some very tricky decisions to make! I needed the advice from one of the strongest, wisest women I knew: my grandma.

Second Chance, First Date
Inside my head, alarm bells are going off. Voices are telling me this is wrong, to stop and rethink my decision, so for the moment, I close my eyes and listen to the sound of rain falling around me. Something about the sound of water thundering against pavement has always soothed me. I open my eyes. Thank God for my umbrella, which has done an admirable job of repelling the deluge. Otherwise, I'd be soaked to the bone, which would be a tragedy since I'm in my best suit.

Wine and Pretzels
Boy, I really hate this job, Queenie thought, just as Rudy walked through the door of the ice cream shop. She watched him smile and talk to nearly everyone he passed as he made his way to the counter. Queenie knew Rudy from one of her college classes. He was always with a crowd of other students who seemed to worship him. Yes, he was cute---but what was the big deal really? She stared at him as he made his way to the counter.
