I Dated My Professor
I ran the mile-and-half to his house most nights, the air growing warmer as we slipped closer to summer, my feet crushing fallen cherry blossoms on the quiet dark road. I’d arrive at his door panting a little. He would already be there waiting, playfully scolding me for running alone at night, telling me I should let him come pick me up from campus, leading me inside to show me the candles he’d lit all around for a midnight picnic on the floor. He would kiss me deeply, always slow and delicious enough to make me even more breathless. He’d pull me down next to him and hand me a glass of wine, ask me if it was good. I never had any idea if it was good or not, so I’d put on a silly French accent and wiggle my eyebrows and say things like “old cream, owl feathers, rainbow essence on the nose” and he would burst into laughter and I would kiss him again, harder and inexpertly, and he’d smile and call me beautiful Joanna, and tangle his hands in my hair.

The Psychiatrist Husband Shopping Match #1 He seemed interesting and compassionate. He was certainly financially stable. We began texting within a day or two after messaging on Match. I am not the most attentive person when it comes to responding. I am a single mom. Constantly busy with work, raising the tiny human, gym, my close friends, and side projects. He appeared to deal with that situation with empathy and kindness, which was important to me. Men that become frustrated too easily could never survive in a relationship with me. He could definitely hold an intellectual conversation. I enjoyed our discussions, for the most part. We also had similar ideas of what a relationship should be like, or so I thought.

Here’s Why I’m Actually Glad that My Honeymoon Phase Is Over
My boyfriend and I have been together for a while now, and have definitely left the honeymooning period. When he doesn’t put the seat down, I no longer find his forgetfulness endearing, and when I make us 30 minutes late *again* because I took too long getting ready, he no longer thinks it cute that I care so much about my winged liner being perfect.

JOSEPH I could hear her rummage behind me as she helped empty out my dresser while I continued to pack my things into boxes. Antoine’s roommate’s lease had expired and he had asked me if I’d like to move in when we got back from the Poconos. I accepted, not really talking it over with my mother, who'd been more like my roommate since I hit puberty and I began to distance myself from her. It bothered her then and it bothered her now. I was her only son. And her only son was moving out. I was making good money at the construction yard with Uncle Santiago and working part time as a security guard. Granting me the luxury of being able to finally be on my own, pay my own bills, and do just about whatever I wanted without anyone telling me what to do.
Sharlene AlbaPublished 3 years ago in HumansStop wasting your time and ghost them
Let's face it dating today is difficult even though people are a lot more accessible via social media, dating apps, social clubs, etc. The problem is that even though people are accessible they are not always emotionally available. It takes a lot of strength to look in the mirror and say, "I need to work on me first if I ever want to be in a healthy relationship." Instead people act on loneliness and drag others into their mess only to keep them at a distance. Here are 5 signs that you may be dealing with someone that is emotionally unavailable:

Lately, I've been thinking that my attachment style is different than what I originally presumed and have believed for quite some time. Granted, I had never looked into the disorganized attachment style before this week. Anxious described me but not entirely; same with avoidant. I know it's common to have a combination of the four and I'm sure we all have characteristics of each, but some aspects of the disorganized really resonated with me.

I will be 32 in February. The saying, “you’re not getting any younger” is beginning to sink in. Plus, my recent career has given me a little extra time. Therefore, I have decided that it is time to start dating again.
Jennifer MosierPublished 3 years ago in HumansAre Dating Sites the New Norm for Singles looking for love?
Joining a dating site was once regarded as the last resort for singles who had failed to connect in ‘traditional’ outlets, like nightclubs, bars, or other social arenas. But these websites have outgrown the stereotypes - the longer-established platforms now command memberships running into tens of millions, right across the globe. With the 2020 pandemic restricting access to offline venues, those numbers have risen even further. Could it be said that dating sites have become the default option for today’s singles?

Whew, smh... Countless movies have displayed it, so many decent men have experienced it, and quite a large number are regretting still knowing this all too well. What more can we say? Nice guys do finish last. You know that one friend who waited on line for Jordan's new kicks on the release date, since about 5am, on a line that appeared to rarely move? Now picture this...everyone's getting a pair, the line shrinks, and his heart pumps faster. He's about 7 feet from the door, and the employee guarding the entrance comes out and shakes his head. "Sorry guys! That was the last pair." The friend's heart drops, and it immediately starts raining. I guess you can hear the countless "F bombs," screams, and assorted varieties of bad language, unfit for the ears of a preschool kid to listen to.
