Unique Burger King Menu Items From Around The World
International BK locations aren't just Whoppers. Check out these unique items!
Burger King is known for pushing the boundaries of fast food. Whether it's introducing meat-forward items, or the newest Impossible Whopper, it's safe to say that the King isn't scared of some experimentation. They also aren't afraid to test the limits with items internationally because just like every other fast food chain, they don't just exist in the United States.
We all have our American favorites, but what items exist on international BK menus? Let's take a look!
10. The Spicy Shrimp Whopper
Where can I find it? Japan
Debuting in Spring 2019, BK Japan's Spicy Shrimp Wholler has been a total hit with Japanese customers. The sandwich features a classic Whopper with a spicy tomato sauce and crispy shrimp. It's described as a luxury to taste meat and seafood at the same time.
9. Bacon Lover
Where can I find it? France & Switzerland
Available at BK locations in France and Switzerland, the Bacon Lover is for lovers of crispy bacon. The sandwich offers two beef patties (flame broiled, of course), tomato, onion, cheese, bacon and a smoked sauce. What makes this sandwich unlike any other bacon-filled sandwich is even the bun has bacon in it.
8. Poutine with Bacon
Where can I find it? Canada
It wouldn't be Canadian without poutine, right? BK's version of this Canadian food staple includes those crispy BK fries topped with cheese curds, gravy, and crispy bacon bits.
7. Warm Belgian Waffles
Where can I find it? Switzerland
Available at participating locations, Swiss locations feature a warm and comforting dessert option in Warm Belgian Waffles. The dessert is a Belgian waffle topped with caramel or chocolate sauce, complete with a side of vanilla ice cream. How's that for a winter treat!
6. SufganiKing
Where can I find it? Israel
Originally launched to coincide with Hanukkah, this Israeli BK treat features the oily, fried foods that are typically enjoyed during the holiday. For this "donut burger," it's basically a Whopper served in between two fried donuts filled with ketchup instead of jelly. The SufganiKing is exclusively available in Israel during the holidays, so be sure to enjoy Hanukkah in Israel if you ever want to try one.
5. The Garlic Meat Beast
Where can I find it? Japan
Launched in 2013, this sandwich was true to its name. Featuring a quarter pound beef patty alongside a teriyaki chicken breast and a garlic pork patty, this sandwich also features a scallion miso sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, and bits of fried garlic.
4. Meatatarian Burger
Where can I find it? New Zealand
The Kiwi's definitely amped up their carnivorous game with this BK sandwich offering in New Zealand. Originally a limited-time offer, the Meatatatian Burger launched an entire menu with three different levels of meatiness. Toppings included multiple beef patties, up to six strips of bacon, and a crispy chicken patty. With toppings like cheese, onion, and barbecue sauce, these probably aren't the most health conscious sandwiches available.
3. Chicken Nugget Burger
Where can I find it? United Kingdom
Sometimes it can be hard to decide between chicken nuggets or a burger, but UK locations have solved this issue with the Chicken Nugget Burger. It is pretty much exactly how it sounds with chicken nuggets in between a burger bun. The sandwich comes with choice toppings such as lettuce, mayo, or a spicy sauce.
2. X-tra Long Burger
Where can I find it? Germany, Austria, Netherlands
The name for this European BK offering pretty much speaks for itself - it's an extra long burger. Similar to the American Original Chicken Sandwich, the long bun features three beef patties placed horizontally. The kicker is instead of standard toppings you're able to select chili cheese, jalapenos, onion rings, and more.
1. Pumpkin Burger
Where can I find it? Japan
The United States isn't the only country obsessed with pumpkins. This offering at Burger King locations in Japan offered a burger with a beef patty, bacon, lettuce, and a creamy nut sauce topped with two slices of Kabocha squash (aka, Japanese pumpkin). The bun was even shaped kind of like a pumpkin! With the way the pumpkin spice craze continues to shine, I won't be surprised if this winds up being a worldwide offering before too long.
